I mean, really, it always seems like they have the head-on in company meetings and know everything going on. How do they get this stuff? -.-

By giving money to people in the companies who are unhappy with what's going on, while also promising to not rat out the sources.

From what I can tell, it's mostly 3rd and 4th hand information from the actual sources they have in the companies.

Some of the wrestlers themselves just leak out the info just so the public knows what's going on hoping to sway opinions.

Sometimes it's just someone heard someone heard someone. Other times, there are moles within the company who leak stuff.

I'd say there's less than a handful of sites which truly have industry sources. The rest of the sites just paste and copy. The sources are anyone inside the industry. I recall stories of during the 80s, people would see copies of the WON on McMahon's desk.

I'd say the only legit sites out there for news are PWInsider and Wrestling Observer. I can't honestly say anything about the Torch since I've never followed it due to my apathy for it, and the fact that I don't care for a guy who spreads a rumor about "death watches" just to get the Internet audience talking, and I also don't care for a guy who would sabotage an independent company from getting on PPV ten years ago.

I've heard more than one story that involves RVD giving some information to some people he knows who work for magazines. These aren't recent stories either, they go back before he was even in the WWE. For some reason I can picture someone offering RVD a dime bag in exchange for some backstage info.

The Torch sucks. Very little news. PWInsider is basically Mike Johnson with the news, and Dave Scherer with fabricated news (Steve Corino at ONS 2006, for example) and endless rants against fat people (even though Scherer is fat), him bragging about working out (even though he's fat), him joking about soliciting prostitutes, and I sware to god - one "hotline" from him consisted of nearly 20 minutes of him Hootie Hoo!ing about an HP printer he bought but was too stupid to figure out - and poor Buck woodward sitting there, most likely biting his lip, as Dave harped on adn on . Even though Johnson is THE news breaker on that site - he's been known to spend nearly an hour on "elite hotlines" talking about huging Aquaman with Jess McGrath. A wrestling hotline with an hour of comic book talk... If Johnson ever started his own site, and kept the hour long comic book crap off his "htolines," I'd subscribe. WO is expensive for what you get. The Torch is pretty useless. They don't break news anymore, and have a history of trying to kill indies (ECW, and now the yseem very anti-TNA) and I want to hear about wrestling, not Wade Keller bragging about how he's proud to be a Nazi. er, I mean "conservative."

I forgot to mention this in my last post, but the PWInsider guys all worked for ECW (via ECW.com) and that leads to a whole lot of "inside" info, especially with the WWE (*cough*Tommy Dreamer*cough). TNA - could be a lot of people (and probably is) but TNA are pretty transparent with the dirt sheet vets anyway.
