Took this from his "Random TV Thoughts" section on his site, put it in this section because he talks about TNA.
WWE: RAW December 11, 2006
- Not a big fan of tonights show. If you take out the 6 man (DX+ - RKO+) segment in the middle there wasn't much left. Tons of blown spots tonight.
- Why did the opening, back to back, tag matches have the same finish (a roll up).
- Cena is Main Eventing a PPV next week and never mentioned it once. Doesn't he care about the PPV, and if not, why should we?
- Didn't Victoria win the Battle Royal to become the #1 contenter? So why is she working her way through the Women's division?
- JR with the line of the night in response to King telling him to watch Melina's entrance, "I'm going to watch, it's television, what else am I going to do?" I love JR!!!!!!
TNA: Impact December 21, 2006
- I'm back watching the shows after a week off to vacation in Hawaii with my wife.
- I'm still left very frustrated by this show and I hope to hell they get 2-hours soon so they don't keep cramming so much stuff onto this show. They are cramming so many people and angles into 1-hour there is no time left for matches.
- I think there was 6 maybe 7 minutes of match time that aired on the show, which is just very sad. Sting had a squash, Team 3-D had a squash, and the Main Event was just a schmazz.
- In my opinion only good matches will attrack NEW viewers. To get caught up in the angles you have to watch for a couple weeks, a great match you'll notice right away. There hasn't been a great match (that I remember at least) since the 2-hour special.
- The X Division is a complete waste now. They are earning points on a pogo stick now. This has gone beyond HORRIBLE.
WWE:SmackDown December 22, 2006
- To quote JBL "Smack Down is the A Show". I really love this show. We got 3 really solid matches and 2 great emotional promos.
- Benoit vs. Chavo was very solid and the twist at the end with Vicky has me interested. If they turn her face and reveal that Chavo was manipulating her to steal Eddies estate, Chavo will have more heat than HELL.
- Hats off to Joey Mercury for showing up to work 2-days after that injury. I kow the Hardy - MNM on again off again tag team situation blurs the brand split but I like that fact that buddies (MNM) and brothers (Hardys) are sticking together despite working on different shows, it makes it feel more important.
- Cole with the absurd quote of 2006. On a show that employs Regal, Finlay, Helms, and Benoit, to name just a few, Cole actually stated: "I Love watching the Diva matches, for all the technical maneuvers."
- JBL's promo was fantastic and real emotional but there was so much truth in it I don't know how to react and I'm not sure what it was supposed to accomplish. Perhaps it was just meant as a lesson to everyone else on how to cut an emotional believable promo.
- The Main Event was a prime example of how you beat somebody clean without hurting them. Taker and Kane have been pushed so strong that Finlay and Booker standing there ground and dominating physically before losing made them look good despite the clean loss.
WWE: ECW December 8, 2006 (Airs Friday in Canada)
- Heyman opened the show with a promo complaining that the Elimination Chamber was unfair to Big Show and cost him the title unjustly. Wasn't Heyman the one who booker the damn match? It was his idea in the first place!!!!!!!
- Did the girls match or post match angle accomplish anything? NO!
- Did the Dreamer - Davari match or post match attack accommplish anything? No!
- Kudos to Big Show for toughing out one more match and making the effort to pass the torch to Lashley as clean and strongly as he could.
I'm glad somebody else agrees with me that JBL was right and SmackDown is the A-show, moreso now that the person saying it is Lance Storm. However I do disagree with him about the PCS. The PCS is saving the X-Division by giving the wrestlers actual characters and time to speak, and thus generating interest in them (in theory). Ah well, opinions are opinions.
Oh, and I totally agree that the low amount of match time is a problem for TNA.
