It's a shame that Chuck Taylor isn't (or never has been?) on WWE's radar. The guy can go in the ring, got buckets of charisma, is comedy gold but can also be serious and is an experienced tag wrestler. The guy deserves a massive break after all these years he has put in and being one of the most entertaining guys on the indys He should totally be on national tv by now, he's too good not to be.

Ergh... I actually rolled my eyes when I saw Elgin sell a slight brush to his shoulder, before I noticed the dive in the background was even worse.

I've always wondered about bumping on a pile of chairs or taking some nasty driver type move through chairs. Does that hurt as much as it looks like it hurts or are they somehow still protected? That fisherman buster to Cole looked like it could have taken years off of his life.

Just a little reminder that BJ Whitmer vs Jimmy Jacobs was a thing, and contained the insanity which were these spots (you can make up your own mind whether or not i mean that in a positive way, there are points from both sides but let's just say leaning towards the negative)

The second is one of the most insane "gone wrong" spots I've ever seen. Jimmy is lucky BJ had the wherewithal to pretty much save his life with the second. Could've ended a lot worse than it did.

Even with the hit Jacobs took from the botched one I can't believe he was able to carry on and finish the match. He took a top rope bell to belly and a f***ing lariat after that. It could have been a lot worse for him but it still looks like his head get's a little whiplash once he hits the ring apron. The first one I think they have a lot of f***ing balls just for even thinking of, never mind actually doing it. I credit them for doing such insane spots, not getting too hurt by them, managing to turn it into a positive for the feud/match without meaning to in the botched one and really making memorable spots. Those are the positives that I meant. Of course the other side of it being when they plan to do a spot like a top rope powerbomb to the outside they are asking for trouble and it's a dumb spot to do. I don't know, I will always be in two minds about this feud and the stuff they did. I can never make up my mind. I think they did some brutal spots in the cage match that they had (I think it was the feud ending match) as well if I remember right?

I don't know, I will always be in two minds about this feud and the stuff they did. I can never make up my mind. I think they did some brutal spots in the cage match that they had (I think it was the feud ending match) as well if I remember right? Yeah Jimmy showed his toughness that night. Carrying on after a powerbomb gone-wrong like that is gutsy to say the least. If I remember correctly (it was a long time ago, after all) the powerbomb led to him being out for a few months, the other (planned) powerbomb happened in his first match back and was the ending to the match. The first one was a lot safer (or at least as safe as you can get with a spot like that) because there were a ton of plants ready in the crowd to catch them. I think the reason they did that spot is they knew everyone was still talking about the earlier powerbomb and they didn't want their feud to be pigeon-holed by just one blown spot so they did it again, without a botch this time. The original powerbomb (second in terms of gifs you posted) was supposed to just be a Super Powerbomb into the ring but BJ slips and they tumble to the outside. Jimmy said in his ROH shoot (which is really cool, by the way) that BJ managed to push him into the ropes as they were falling and if he hadn't things may have been a lot worse because Jimmy could've landed head first on the edge of the apron with nothing to break his fall. Jimmy/BJ is one of my all-time favourite ROH feuds so I don't have any two minds about it like you do but if something had gone seriously wrong it would've definitely tainted my view of the feud. Fortunately through some good luck and some incredible workmanship nothing like that happened. They did some brutal spots in the cage match but they were more out-and-out violent than dangerous if you get my drift. At least that's how I remember it but once again it's been a while since I've seen these matches. But their whole feud was amazing and, taking it to another level, Jimmy's evolution through this, the rest of the Lacey angle (with Cabana etc.) into the Age of the Fall stuff was some of the best character building I've ever seen in pro wrestling. Jimmy and Gabe were on fire back then.
