Any here who like this movie and consider it underrated? It's always been among my favorite sequels and I'll always love both movies to death. I can understand people finding the original to be better, but the sequel I think is definitely unfairly maligned and hated on and deserves a lot more respect. I always enjoy the Hell out of this every time I see it and I find it has the same great balance of laughs and scares as the original, the main cast are all back and still have great chemistry, Vigo was a scary villain and I always felt the mood slime storyline was very creative. And throw in a lot of awesome scenes it has like the river of slime, the courtroom scene with the Scoleri Brothers and the walking Statue Of Liberty, it's hard for me not to enjoy this. I always watch both movies together because to me they feel so incomplete if one is watched on it's own.
Both movies are among my all-time favorites and I always hate seeing the second one get bashed on, which happens a LOT from what I've seen. Granted I grew up with both movies and definitely have a strong nostalgic attachment to both, but while I won't argue GB2 has some flaws, I think the good definitely outweighs the bad and it's still a winner. Any others here who like it?

I like the movie. It is not as good as the first one, but I think it does get love. Peter MacNicol did a pretty good job.

Not really hell even Bill Murray himself admitted it was a disappointing squeal.

Not really hell even Bill Murray himself admitted it was a disappointing squeal. Which has probably not helped it's rep over the years :/

No, I love Ghostbusters 2, to the point I have a replica painting of Vigo hanging up in my room.
I can't believe this isn't out on Blu-Ray yet. Am I really that blind to it's faults?

It's a damn awesome movie and I also want it on Blu-ray. Granted It's not as good as the first, but that's more a testament to how good the first one is. Also Janosz is pretty much infinitely quotable... Which is one of my theories why Bill Murrray doesn't like it... Because most of the memorable lines from the original Ghostbusters are his.

It has the greatest use of an NES Advantage controller ever.

Viggo was the scariest thing to happen in a movie in my childhood.

I liked it. It wasn't as good as the first and did have some problems (mainly having the Ghostbusters start over), but it was fun. Also I've got to post it, because it's a great song
There are some things in this world that go way beyond human understanding. Things that cannot be explained. Things that some don't even want to know about! What I'm saying is sometimes shit happens, someone has to deal with, and who you gonna call?

I remember thinking it was really creepy as a little kid, but I was little then and it isn't as creepy as it was then. However, I actually liked the movie. Yes, I can understand why some wouldn't like it, especially the little subplot of Peter and Dana reuniting. However, I liked the courtroom scene and who could forget the Lady Liberty scene?

I loved that second interaction between Vigo and Janosz.
"I am Vigo! The scourge of Carpathia!"
"Yes yes...the scourge."

By no means an oscar contender, and not as good as the original. Still a very fun movie.
Murry not liking it isnt shocking. I actually agree with the above theory on why.

I like the first one much better and it's a classic. The second one is just ok but that's a bad thing seeing how great the first movie was.

This is currently my 3 year old's favorite movie. He dresses up in a Nasa space suit, complete with a hard hat and calls himself a Ghostbuster. He then grabs his stuffed snake and tells me he is busting ghosts.

Compared to the first movie, yes it's disappointing, which is where the criticism comes from. The first movie was an all-time classic, while the sequel was merely a solid B+.

While I enjoy the first a bit more, I like this one a lot. I actually saw this one before the original, so I'll always have a soft spot for it.
