There are only 4 episodes left of the final season and I was wondering how FAN felt about it. I personally am still waiting for it to feel like the last season of the show.

I seriously think they have no idea what they're doing.

Damn, only four episodes. I haven't watched last nights episode yet but it really doesn't feel like the end is near. Don't get me wrong I've really liked the season so far, and it's great to see Hannah return, but it kinda feels your average season of Dexter. I hope they kick it in to high gear soon.

I seriously think they have no idea what they're doing. In the last episode, Dexter steps into an open manhole and falls to his death.

Yeah, it doesn't feel like a final season at all.

I haven't watched Season 7 yet due to watching Supernatural. Judging by from what I've read here, it would've surprise me if it doesn't pick up until the last three episodes.

"Are they drunk? Did they forget this is the last season?" and "Why is this so boring?" and "Is my memory tricking me? Was this show ever good?"

Its odd how they've formatted this season. I seriously don't think this show is over. Honestly I can see it returning in a few years in the form of TV Movies, Miniseries, or another Series of a couple of episodes. I'll wait and see but if they're implying what I think, Idk there is much to look forward to.

I think that the Brain surgeon is connected to the Matsuka/daughter storyline. That is the only way that storyline can be justified as important enough to be included in the final season of a show that has been on the air this long, especially when considering how little has been aired about Matsuka's life all this time. I think either she is pulling a Brian Moser and assumed the identity of Vince's real daughter to infiltrate everyone important's lives. Or, that they reveal that Miami Metro has two serial killer forensics guys working for them.

I like the current Masuka storyline, its actually developing the character and seemingly giving him more closure than Dexter. Its really odd...

Why flesh out Masuka's character now after doing so little with him for the rest of the series? I want to believe it is going to lead somewhere important.

I mean seriously, he's the only character that would have nothing if that story didn't exist.

I had my theories about how this season was going to go...and they mostly just got flushed down the toilet with that last episode. Hm.
Yeah, I have no idea what the show is doing. But hey, at least it isn't the mess that was the most recent season of True Blood.
You want to talk about train wrecks...yeesh.

I really like Bethany Joy Lenz and enjoyed her character ( a nice normal person is different for the Dexter world)...so of course they kill her off before she can do anything worthwhile....
I enjoyed the the first two seasons, Miguel season (s3) and the Trinty season (s4). But things really started to do break down at season 5, I have enjoyed performances since by Mos Def, Colin Hanks, Julia Stiles and Yvonne Strahovski but not enough to enjoy those seasons. This show's qualty has been completely dependent on how the lead antagonist/villain is for a season, so to end with the Brain Surgeon!!!!! after great one's like Trinty and Miguel early on is a damn shame. The show almost feels like it has become a parody of itself, and that's not down to Michael C. Hall as I still enjoy him as an actor.
I agree with everyone that has said it doesn't feel like the last season, hell I would go as far to call it boring, but with what I am like with a TV series I am in till the end even if I enjoyed it only for one season. I now just tune in to see how it ends (whatever that is worth) and the hotness of Yvonne Strahovski and Aimee Garcia (who i just realized looks a hell of a lot like AJ Lee, and that's a damn good compliment)

I was looking forward to this season so much. Gotta say after watching all of Breaking Bad for the first time on Netflix and getting into Total Divas, Dexter is now #3 on my Sunday Night DVR priority to watch list. Hopefully the last 4 episodes picks up.

Anyone else feel that Hall's ego may have been the cause of the show's downfall as well? I believe he is a Producer on the show currently and since that's happened, we've seen more sex scenes with the character and more show-off of Dexter himself whether it be the sex scene from the last episode or Dexter getting blown by the one chick at the beginning of Season 6.

no one else thinks dr. vogel is the brain surgeon? ... {Spoiler}Right now, she's pretty much the only theories I have left after Zach dying.
I think she's either the Brain Surgeon. Or, that a family member of hers is the actual Brain Surgeon, explaining how she evaded the question as to why she got into this field in the first place and why she's so motherly to so many killers & psychopaths. Or that she's, as the preview implied, some type of messenger for the Brain Surgeon.
I think it all ties into what she formed Dexter into too. I'd guess that she is trying to shape him, like the others, into a Brain Surgeon copycat. Or that the Brain Surgeon thing is some weird defective thing that happened when she tried to either make an earlier version of Dexter or recreate it.
Then again, I'm half expecting with how the show's been going for the Brain Surgeon to be revealed to be Dexter. Or, rather his "dark passenger" and the show ends on it either consuming it or him "killing" his killer side and going on to be a normal man with a normal life. I'm similar in opinion as 543. I think the first season's solid, though has aged a bit when rewatching it. Second season's good, third season's okay but has a weak villain who I never cared for, fourth season's awesome. Then...it becomes much more a case of the actors & actresses keeping me there than the show as a whole. Much like the current season. I didn't know about Hall becoming a producer after Season 4, though that would explain a lot of things and make a lot of sense. There's a part of me that wishes they had stuck more closely to the novels, they really are good books.

no one else thinks dr. vogel is the brain surgeon? It seems ridiculous that she's going through all these lengths to do it. Hell, look at her freak out in the one episode. No one was around, why would she just randomly freak out like that?
