Was there anyone you first saw on HvV that when you saw their original seasons, your opinion changed? Cirie, Danielle, and Candice, definitely. {Spoiler}After seeing Micronesia and later Panama, I realized why Tom, JT, and Colby chose Cirie for the blindside. She had a good mind for the game, which we didn't get a chance to really see in HvV.
Danielle, she actually seemed more likeable in her first season. She just had the bad luck of being in an alliance that came off as villains(aside from Cirie and Bruce). But in HvV, she was just Parvati's handmaiden.
Candice... why was she on the Heroes tribe? After watching Cook Islands, I cannot understand that decision. Courtney was more of a hero than her, honestly. Oh I am NOT letting this conversation go by without chiming in on Casaya. They are why I re-watched that season a second time (well, and Cirie). {Spoiler}{Spoiler}"I will kill you in your shitty apartment."
.....
"My apartment isn't shitty."
!?!??!!
"WELL OBVIOUSLY I'VE NEVER BEEN IN YOUR APARTMENT! I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SHITTY OR NOT!!!!!"
{Spoiler}HEEEEEEEEEEEEEH.
Effing Courtney. "I'm a bird. I gotta fly." {Spoiler}Those damn fire sticks. Why, of all things, would you make THAT your luxury item?
{Spoiler}
Yea Cirie is awesome. I can see how if HvV was the first thing you saw, you'd be scratching your head, but once you see Panama and Micronesia, it aaaaaall makes sense.
Danielle was alright. Even in HvV, I didn't find her hateful or anything. She's never been a favorite of mine, though. Always just kind of...there.
I have no earthly idea why Candice was a hero because she was as villainous as they came in Cook Islands. I think I read Probst say that the guts it took to mutiny made her a hero, but whatever, Jeff.
And Courtney brought fire sticks for her luxury item because she's insane.
{Spoiler}Except that Candice having the guts to mutiny makes no sense when you realize Penner was one of the people they considered for the Villains tribe before the world knew who Russell Hantz was. If Penner was a villain in his season, then so was Candice.
And I don't think Penner was a villain, for the record. He stayed loyal to his alliance with Candice, but got painted in a bad light for flipping to Yul's side. But prior to that, he didn't do anything I'd consider outright villainous at all. Candice was way more of a villain than he was.

{Spoiler}I must be the only Rupert fan....
I agree about the twists not being a good idea at all. {Spoiler}The biggest issue I have about Rupert playing again is that we've seen him play the same game three times before. I don't know about Pearl Islands, but his All-Stars and HvV games were about the same. The only difference is he made it further in All-Stars.
If he plays even a slightly different game this time around, I'll be impressed. But I'm definitely NOT excited to see Laura play.

Candice mutinied because her friends were on the other tribe. Penner mutinied because of an alliance he thought everyone would honor. If anything, I'd think Candice should have been a villain and Penner a hero in a HvV scenario, but I've never been shy about Penner being an all-time favorite of mine.
But Jeff is full of it, much like I feel he has been for seasons now.

{Spoiler}Yeah, I'm a huge Penner fan myself.
And I agree about Jeff. And really, he said in the HvV promotional stuff that he didn't think there were that many memorable women. Which coming from him shouldn't be all that surprising, considering how he's talked to/about some of the female contestants.
Also his reasoning that Fairplay wasn't brought back, because he "quit" in Micronesia. He was voted out. Yeah, he asked them to vote him out, but to say he quit is reaching. But hey, Probst hates him, so there you go.

{Spoiler}Oh, I think Jeff is totally sexist, at least where it applies to Survivor. He's ridiculous when it comes to female contestants. And I get that he doesn't like Fairplay, but if one can love Hantz as much as he clearly does, he should at least be able to set aside whatever his problem is to have Fairplay on again. Again: whatever, Jeff.

I agree about the twists not being a good idea at all. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}If I can make an anology I would like to say that Rupert is the John Cena of the survivor world. At first everyone likes him, but too much saturation of him you really see all of his flaws, and you get tired of him. And honestly, to be blunt, he is not a gamer. He is very bitter and takes everything personally if you are not with him. If you are not with with him then you are a villian. Doesn't understand that you have to play the game hard and its not a game of "lets all behave and take me to the end and give me a million." Not many of the returnees excite me, although i don't mind seeing Tyson and Aras again. Can't stand Colton Hope he goes first. However I am interested about Caleb cause how could anyone love Colton? He's such a self entitled princess bigot. I occasionally watch big brother and Hayden made me laugh during his season, so I'll root for him. But I am not too hopefull for this season. Too much of a gimmick.

Well if you guys follow Big Brother you might want to avoid the talk Elissa and Judd were having on the patio this morning. Elissa reads Survivor spoilers and let slip something about the season.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but TVGN has been running All-Stars, One World, and Redemption Island this week and next week in preparation for the season.

I've actually been thinking a lot about Survivor this week since Big Brother has been such a complete and utter failure this season, and I think I'm getting myself pretty psyched up, in spite of the silly twists this season. But onto some random accumulative thoughts about Survivor.
-After re-watching All-Stars for the first time since it aired, good god was Jenna Lewis annoying. I guess I didn't realize it at the time because I was a big Rupert fan and she was his ally, but she was just horrible. Also, the fact that she'd willingly go to the final 3 with a couple makes her a moron. So she was a crappy player, and an annoying personality.
-I'm going to sound like such a loser for saying this, but I still get a little bit emotional for any kind of letters from home/loved one visits episodes of Survivor. Rupert watching the video of Laura and his daughter from All-Stars nearly had me tearing up today.
-All-Stars was such a flawed season, and I hate the way it turned out. Sure Boston Rob became a Survivor legend from that season and subsequent appearances, but man.... I hate the way they targeted every good gameplayer or winner right from the start. People like Richard Hatch, Ethan, Tina, Rob C., etc got ousted early, and we ended up having people like Jenna Lewis making it as far as the final 3. It's why All-Stars seasons will never work perfectly. People know who can play, and they don't want to play with the real players.
-When I watched All-Stars, I had skipped Thailand and Marquesas seasons, so I didn't know so many of the players. I wonder if I had known them at the time, if it would have affected who I was rooting for that season. I'm guessing probably not, but who knows.
-The song from the commercial they've been running for Blood vs. Water sounded familiar to me ever since I first heard it. Now today I realized it's AJ Styles' "No One" theme, and I feel like an idiot for taking so long to realize it.
-Truthfully, I think Amber played an underrated game in All-Stars. Sure she had Rob as a meat shield, but she wasn't a dummy. Was she the best player that year? No. Was she the worst winner ever? Also no. It's the fact that she won an All-Stars season that makes it look worse than it actually was.
-I read a list ranking the winners from seasons 1 through 25, and I was pretty annoyed with the whole thing. Somehow Kim from One World was ranked the greatest Survivor winner of all-time, and neither of Sandra's wins even cracked the top half. Denise and Sophie got ranked pretty highly, which made me think it was a pretty reactionary list to the more recent seasons.
-The person I'm most excited to see play again this year? Aras. Least excited for? Colton, by far. Really more than anything, I'm looking forward to seeing Hayden play. As a bigger Big Brother fan than a Survivor fan, I'm pretty giddy about this crossover. I think he has a good chance at getting pretty far.
EDIT ADDITION:
-Since Hayden (a former Big Brother winner) is playing Survivor, I'd really like to see a former Survivor winner/player play Big Brother. My number one choice for that would be someone like Cochran.

The album was just released on iTunes for anyone who wants to listen to the new theme early.
It's pretty good; enough to where I can differentiate it from Caramoan.

Regarding one of the twists tonight... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Before the game starts one person from each tribe is getting voted out immediately and going to Redemption Island. Who is your money on?
I think it'll either be Rupert and his wife, or Colton and his fiancee.
