In Deep South Wrestling Bill DeMott told Kenny Omega to have a match with no fancy moves, only focus on a body part. Kenny Omega became a legend that night choosing to work the ass of his opponent.

You'll have to forgive me for this, but I'm remembering from over 20 years ago. In '99/'00 WCW used to air a show called 'Worldwide' here in the UK, which was a compilation of Nitro & Thunder matches. I remember specifically one match which demonstrated the absolute ineptitude of the company: So basically a bunch of big name wrestlers come out one-by-one until four are in the ring. I know one of them was Scott Hall, & I think Bret Hart & Goldberg were involved. They start wrestling, & the announcers start wondering if this is an official match, & if so, if it's for the US Title or not. Eventually someone grabs a ladder, & Scott Hudson on commentary shouts "Oh, it's a LADDER match!" (Like he's just solved a crossword clue or something). The match goes on, & it's the worst ladder match ever, as no-one is using it to do moves with. Then, & I swear to God this is true, Kevin Nash comes out wearing a ref shirt. In a ladder match. Eventually Bret (I think?) gets the belt, but then Nash hits him in the back, then leaves the title belt on the floor near Scott Hall who wakes up, picks up the title, & is declared the winner. One wonders why WCW would not advertise a four-way ladder match between big stars, or leave their announcers in the dark as to what was going on? Or why a referee is needed in a ladder match at all? Or why, if he's a special ref, Nash didn't just double team everyone with Hall to begin with? I'd swear this was all a fever dream but I have it recorded on VHS somewhere. The first full episode of wrestling TV I ever saw had a main event of Hogan vs. Sid which Hogan won by pinning Rick Steiner in a ring filled with garbage. is this the show that had batman style Ka-pows for chair shots?

Yup. And whipcracks. WCW Worldwide on Channel 5. Shane Douglas gets on the mic: CUT THE *whipcrack sound effect* MUSIC he only said 'damn'

I wish I can find footage of WWF discussing the Von Erich family on one of their TV shows. That was back in 1984 at a time when the company did not acknowledge the existence of other promotions. I believe it was to promote an article in their magazine.

Hulk Hogan vs. Jim Duggan - WWF, 1980 This segment also features Freddie Blassie, Pat Patterson, Bob Backlund and Vince McMahon on commentary. www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0ROzfopFjU&Bizarrely, after ring introductions, WWF Champion Bob Backlund is announced for an impromptu and brutally dull ringside interview with Patterson, whilst Hogan and Duggan are just left to stand around waiting. Hulk is quite rightly irked by this, leading to a minor confrontation with Backlund. At this moment you can almost hear the gears turning in McMahon's head.

I believe it was to promote an article in their magazine. That was the very first episode of All American. Vince had convinced some promoters to send tapes in of their top guys knowing that he'd be trying to sign them to go back into the markets from which they came on syndicated television 😳

It's a retrospective on Bob Backlund. For some reason, Vince subtly buries him several times, making it seems like Backlund was close to losing the title countless time and was lucky to be champion for so long. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyBqsAqWg5A

Curt Hennig's final match before he passed away was an "ax handle on a pole" match in TNA against David Flair.

Callis and Martel were originally signed to be a tag team for the WWF in 97 but Martel backed out at the last second leaving Callis with nothing to do but I believe Bret still vouched for him and they signed him as a manager instead

Speaking of Canadians, Earthquake’s last WWF match: youtu.be/LZhBydjoVBwNo, it’s not the Gimmick Battle Royal. Instead it’s a dark match from an Orlando taping in December 2001. In fact though he wrestled after in Canada, Italy, and most extensively in AJPW in Japan after, this might be his last US match period.
