Not a dry eye in the house during Willie's speech.

YES! My bets were Lee or ZSJ but I am so damn happy for Ricochet as a mark of his. Certainly the best choice out of the final 3. I would have preferred Ricochet being in the final 3 with any combo of ZSJ/Lee/Omega/O'Reilly instead of Strong/Gargano but that is me nitpicking and I am sure it was still an incredible match
KING RICOCHET
Pre order all 3 nights for me, without a doubt. Sounds insane and classic!!
Well done PWG, overall a damn successful weekend by the sound of it and well deserved!

Somewhere Chuckie T is crying himself to sleep over the fact that the little kid he used to slap around for titles is now essentially the new King of the Indies.

Credit to Sydal for this pic I can't stress how much I can't wait to save up for my PWG trip once I have gone to Mania 31. Mania is number 1 on my bucket list (yes I actually made one, what can I say I got bored during my final weeks of Uni post work a couple of years ago ) then number 2 is PWG. Plus they are both in California which I haven't been to yet, been to other places in the USA for family holidays but I have still yet to do Cali. I wonder when Mack will get to the performance center by? I wonder if Ricochet will be back on WWEs radar with this win and massive statement (as winning any BOLA is)?

Guys, I just got back home from the show. I'll post my entire notes from tonight and the weekend overall in a bit. However, I will summarize all of those notes in one sentence. I'll even write it in all caps so that it's easily visible: PWG IS THE GREATEST ANYTHING EVER AND NOTHING WILL CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE!

So here's the deal. This was a long show. People started going in around 5:30 and the show started around six and didn't end until about 10:30. Legion Larry refused to turn on the A/C, so the 95 degree outside heat translated to probably about a hundred in the Legion Hall. The heat definitely seemed to have an effect on the crowd's energy, as well as the wrestlers (some minor botches, likely due to slipping or sluggishness.) And the forty buck price tag was pretty steep and I hope is not what PWG is going to charge going forward.
However, all this being said, this may have been the most emotionally charged PWG show I have ever been too. Sure I have my personal faves like my first show there (London's debut) or the BOLA where Omega won the title, but the show from just before the intermission to the end was a ridiculous roller coaster. I don't want to spoil too much, but I'll say this: between the clusterf*** ten man tag with its show-stopping ridiculously amazing Chikara-esque sequence (which is telling because Chikara isn't really my thing) to Willie Mack's heartfelt goodbye to PWG, as well as the Tourney final which had to follow the aforementioned blasts of fan energy, the night really fired on all cylinders.
To me, it felt like the kind of show a promotion would put on if they were closing--pulling out all the stops--and wanted to give the fan's a good send off. I mean, I have seen PWG crowds pop and explode, but the raw mania that filled that place tonight during that ten man tag was surreal. I don't sit on my hands during the PWG shows, but I'm not making the cat calls, or starting chants either, but there was this tangible rush that came over the crowd for a bit there, that was so ravenous it was almost scary, and yet so supremely beautiful.
PWG is such a different animal, and you can tell that each wrestler who goes out there knows it. It's clear people love working there, because the crowd is one that you will probably not find anywhere else. Sure, some of the shtick gets to be too much at times, the work sometimes is a little too spot heavy for some, but honestly, I really believe that you will not find a promotion out there that has more fun, hits harder, and delivers compelling dream matches more often than PWG does from month to month, and it really fills you with this feeling that they are without hyperbole, the best wrestling fed going.

Okay, so notes on tonight: -Waiting outside in the middle of the day;in 96 degree heat in Reseda sucked balls. -Larry did not turn on the AC again tonight. Larry, why do you hate us so much? WHY?!?!?!?!? - Again, I'm real glad the live crowd has turned on Elvis Ref. I've been saying it for months that the guy is garbage. Tonight, he definitely showed it when: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}He botched the ending to Candice/Gargano and was the ref that gave AJ the DQ. The last part obviously isn't really his fault, but coming off the heels (no pun intended) of his botched count in the Candice/Gargano match, he instantly became the second biggest heel after Roddy. -I will never, EVER get tired of seeing Kenny Omega and he needs to become a semi-regular again. The once a year visits are not gonna cut it anymore. - I don't care if it means that I have to pay 40 bucks per show now. Zack Sabre Jr. needs to become a regular member of the PWG roster, yesterday. - Trevor Lee is such a boss and I can't wait for him to get a belt(hopefully it's THE belt) soon in PWG. - PWG multi-man tags are the greatest thing ever. - The 10-man sub-main event tonight was the most fun I've ever had watching a wrestling match live. To say that ot was an experience just doesn't it do it justice on just how awesome it live. - I was never an outright Willie Mack fan, but I did like him a lot. He's really a unique talent and ABSOLUTELY deserves the next step of his career. I know that he'll do us Reseda faithful proud. -Gulak and Hawkins finally got over. HOORAY!!! -Ricochet is out of this world. The End. -I'm absolutely loving this new and aggressive Roddy that we're seeing. I was half-joking with some of the people at the show that PWG is giving him the 'Del Rio' push. -If I had to rank the weekend, I would rank it as follows: Night 3 tied with Night 2, followed by Night 1. Anyways, my overall thought on the weekend as a whole is this. Bear with me here, because it may be long: Someone out there needs to document the entire experience that is Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. From the Legion Hall itself, to waiting in line and meeting new PWG buddies at every show(Seriously, that's like half the fun for me. I love making PWG buddies), to Excalibur and Supes, the talent, Larry, the production crew, everything. It would be a f***ing shame bordering on a crime against the art of Pro Wrestling if everything that makes PWG...well, PWG be lost to the annals of time. Someone out there needs to write a book or make a documentary or anything to keep PWG alive for years to come. Maybe I'm exaggerating(in fact, I probably am) a bit here and I was never there for ECW, but that je ne sais quoi that everybody romanticizes about ECW exists with this company now. Again, it would break my heart if after PWG ceases to be, it really just disappears off the face of the earth. PWG needs to live forever. Anyways, I'll stop being a sap and a blow hard now. I'll just end this post by saying this: ELVIS REF SUCKS!!!!!

- PWG multi-man tags are the greatest thing ever. -Gulak and Hawkins finally got over. HOORAY!!! ELVIS REF SUCKS!!!!! Glad you guys had an awesome time! Everything I heard/was tweeted this weekend made it sound/seem like a Mania weekend or on the same level of. So Hawkins held his own during the 6 man tag then? That's good to hear, maybe he will be invited back in the near future then. I wonder with Night 3 being such a long show if all the speeches/post matches stuff will make it to DVD. Fingers crossed that it all makes it on whether on the show itself or extras! Will be really interesting to see how they handle booking talents and who gets priority from now on considering the performances of a few of the talents this weekend and where they are based (ZSJ and Omega)

What did Willie said on his speech? I know he had a tough upbringing, grew up really poor, any mention of that? The cool thing is that he started as a fan attending the pwg shows.

What did Willie said on his speech? I know he had a tough upbringing, grew up really poor, any mention of that? The cool thing is that he started as a fan attending the pwg shows. Joey Ryan did a little intro talking about how Willie was an early fan of PWG, would come to all the shows, set up the rings, and message the wrestlers on myspace to ask about wrestling schools. Then Willie took the mic, very emotional and talked about growing up only wanting to be a wrestler, and his mother passing away when he was four, and her never been able to see him wrestle. He talked about being in foster care, special education classes and being told he would never amount to anything. He said if he could make it as a wrestler, then everyone else could follow their dream as well, even if they are told that they can't or shouldn't pursue their dreams. It was a great moment. It was super emotional because Willie is a great guy and the crowd loves him, but I think some people in the audience didn't know how to react. For example some idiot in our section (sorry guy, if you're reading this) randomly shouted "John Cena sucks!" while Willie was talking about growing up, and another idiot on the other side shouted "Willie's fat!" around the same time (there always seems to be one guy that tries to ruin moments like these at PWG...), but overall it was a really loving moment, and it should be an amazing DVD segment. It will be a first day buy for me.

I love how ACHs crowd surfing has become a thing he does at every PWG show...only at PWG that ind of stuff happen with ACH being over enough to do so. Just another reason to add for going and seeing it live
I knew about Willie's mom dieing when he was really young, but I didn't know about him having special education classes. I had the same through so many years of education so its nice to have something to relate to him with. He sounds like such a great guy judging by the AOW I heard from him a while back. A hell of a damn talent, can sell like a maniac, has a certain charisma to him and dat moveset. The man will go far. Well done Willie!!

Yeah, that speech sounds great, like genuine, most retirement speeches suck, I'm so happy for Willie, his aow, as someone mentioned before, was great, it sounded as if his father tried to be there for him, but it wasn't the best environment.
I'm really happy for Willie getting this big opportunity, he was supposed to be the breaking star with Brian Cage, but they went in another direction. I never liked that for a time he was confined to a tag team.
Thanks for posting the speech dude.

Damn, this has been a insane year for Ricochet. He won DGUSA's top title, NJPW's Best of the Super Juniors tournament, and now BOLA.

It seems like such a nice inviting atmosphere before, during intermission and after the shows as far as going up and talking to the guys and gal
I assume we will get two more episodes for night 2 and 3

Yeah I think he also has a nice spot in AAA If the stupid indy contracts didn't existed, he definitely would win the roh belt in the next week. So happy for him, curious about who will be picked by pwg to win the title, either him or Roderick.

Kind of disappointed Roddy lost another BOLA final, but with him being number one contender already and them pushing him to be a top heel, it makes sense. Also, Ricochet deserves it. 2014 is his year.
