He should've been wearing the black SCSA trunks from the start. I always felt like the pink trunks contradicted what his character is supposed to represent. He's supposed to enlighten the unwashed masses but he acts like a flamboyant clown.

It's how you know he's in line with a push. Like, I remember at the MitB Miz won several years back, and he was wearing these extremely dull black-with-a-little-red trunks instead of the more ornate ones, and I was all "Yeah, Miz is totally winning here".

I agree the Royal Purple worked much better than the pink did or the Black do.

I don't care about the color, but he does need some decoration. Like a fleur-de-lis on the sides, or his name in a Christian/Regal-style cursive font on the butt. I guess they want him to look old-school, but the blankness there just seems undignified.

As long as they don't neuter him too much, he'll be fine. Like let him keep his general intellectual gimmick, but take away some things like the cartwheels and "SILENCE!". Sandow needs a few tweaks before he can get pushed further. At the moment he's pretty much just a glorified comedy character that for some reason gets more TV time and a bigger push than all the other comedy characters.

Or maybe, just maybe, that's why he's getting more TV time in the first place... He's unique in a roster of slow talking "serious" heels.

I know those quirks where what I liked about him. I just don't want him to devolve into another brooding Randy Orton clone.

But as others have said, I'm fearing this is the beginning of them stripping away his personality. Because, you know, characters with comedy elements have never been viable main event talents before.

The Macho Man pink is seriously one of the best colors for a wrestler. Purple was cool. Why must black be the default?

Meh, the pink and purple trunks were pretty much only there for one reason. Damien Sandow would get "diva" chants in FCW. Now that he isn't, and isn't trying to there's no reason to keep them.

I hate plain black generic trunks. Although the pink didn't really fit his character. I think a more classy colour like dark green or dark purple would suit him.
