I was watching the latest Stone Cold Blu-Ray and they showed a promo where they keep cutting to the crowd to show all of the What? signs there. Needless to say, that was really annoying. One of those promos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3kqfuGHbeIBut, there's WWE current fetish of cutting to the crowd watching the titantron during backstage segments that's also really annoying. Example: So FAN, which is worse and, as a bonus, I threw in WWE's love of colored lighting everywhere.

My vote is the awkward, segment-ending reaction closeups.

You would think they would have dropped the showing the crowd watching the Titantron thing after that hilarious f***-up during that one Nexus segment where the GM noise went off late. Then again, I guess they had reason to cut to the arena on that one since, y'know, they were sort of interacting with it, but still.

Other: how the cameramen become all shaky when the Shield does a beat down. It makes me sick to watch.

The invisible camera.
Always the invisible camera. It's hokey and dumb

Yeah, shaky cam during beatdowns is pretty up there (I distinctly remember absolutely ridiculous rapid-fire zooming in and out during a shield beatdown that looked like a friggin' used car lot commercial) but cutting to the crowd during backstage stuff is just so beyond pointless. Do they ever catch the crowd reacting whatsoever?

While it's definitely not the worst, the fact that they switch camera angles for every single move or bump is very annoying once you realize it's happening. It's not new (they've been doing this for years now), but it's especially jarring when you go and watch some pre-attitude era matches where this doesn't happen.

My vote is the awkward, segment-ending reaction closeups. And it always ends with the interviewer being speechless. I know you're "intimidated" or whatever but why are you an interviewer if you're so easily at a loss for words?

I don't like any of these technique. Piped in crowd noise and the dancing camera also cook my last grit.

The best of the crowd watching the titantron is when they zoomed the camera back and a guy was stuffing his face with food.

They need to quit cutting to the crwod during the backstage segments. It's awkward and annoying. Has to be another "brilliant" idea by Kevin Dunn. Maybe we should make our own Twitter hashtag out of protest? Something like #NotWellDunn or #QuitCuttingToTheCrowdDunn.

Cutting to the crowd showing their reaction is fine providing we don't miss something important from the performers (e.g. Bryan's finisher this week).
My problem is with cutting to the titantron during backstage promos. I mean what the f*** is that about? I don't need to see other people seeing exactly what I'm seeing. I just need to see what I'm seeing, you see?

The funny thing about cutting to crowds during backstage segments is they don't even seem to catch people being excited.
It's like they're intentionally cutting to the crowd to show disinterested people sitting on their hands. They do it very consistently. Even during segments where people might visibly react in the crowd while watching, they don't cut to the crowd at the proper times, they just drop over while someone's in the middle of a normal sentence.
I could do a better job on it day 1 on the job, which is silly since they're so strong almost everywhere else in production.

I think the reason they cut to the crowd watching the segments on the tron is to show that the backstage segments are SUPPOSED to be part of the show as opposed to people "discussing their secret evil plans in front of the camera like it's not there", which is another common complaint.

Cutting to the crowd, definitely. That just about killed the Wyatt promo this week.
I also hate that they insist on multiple cuts to people at ringside or the announce table, and most of the time those cuts come one right after the other. We know they're there, leave the focus on the match.

Cutting to the crowd annoys me. I honestly can't see the point of it or what they're supposed to achieve by showing us a bunch of people staring at the 'tron.
It's like if during Kenan and Kel they cut from showing Kenan and Kels wacky hinjinks to show us the live audience laughing at it.

Thinking about it, it shows you how polished and tight the production almost always is, the fact we've been bitching about one missed move for a whole week.

As soon as you notice it, it's so blatant and ruins the matches. I wish they'd just calm it down a bit. Same for the Shield shaky cam.

Other: Dubbing in background music to backstage promos where the superstar is supposed to be singing/rapping/whatever along. They don't do it particularly often, but when they do it's so off-beat it drives me nuts. Case in point, Jack Swagger singing "Boomer sooner" - (go to 1:17) www.youtube.com/watch?v=kawKCuajIa0
