Meh I never minded Vince being the WWE Champion for a week considering he's jacked and went toe to toe with other mainevent champions. He's somewhat Lex Luthor of the WWE. David Arquette is a lanky B list actor. If it was a celeb it should be a professional football player or Jackie Chan or Arnie. I enjoyed it. It was an interesting twist and made people want to watch. It's not like he pinned Triple H 2-0 in a 3/2 falls, it was a fluke. It furthered the storyline and was fun. People take things far too seriously.

HHH will get on a roll with it.
He won't say it for months but then once he says it, he'll say it 5 times an episode for a month.

Wonder how JR justified Vince McMahon being a former WWF and ECW champion. Just as bad as Arquette IMO. JR's the biggest hypocrite in the industry. And Triple H trashing Goldberg is funny, if only for the fact that Goldberg at his peak was vastly more over than Triple H ever was, even with the WWE hype machine operating at full force. Cant say that I disagree with you, however HHHs longevity (by comparison to Goldberg) and obvious passion for his craft will have him far more relevant to this business than Goldberg in the eyes and hearts of future historians.

Reason why I can never hate HHH. Same here. As much crap as HHH gets (warranted or not) he truly does love wrestling. It's surreal to think about that after he finished the quad tear match and RVD almost killing him in the first elimination chamber.

Wonder how JR justified Vince McMahon being a former WWF and ECW champion. Just as bad as Arquette IMO. I wouldn't say so. In the case of him winning the ECW title he pretty much only won it due to Umaga doing every bit of the work, and honestly given his history him winning the WWF title seems very appropriate to me. Though I probably would have bumped up Stephanie's heel turn and had Triple H beat him for the title instead of having him just vacate it. he vacated the belt immediately and had been hurt pretty bad by Hunter in winning the belt. Makes no sense to choose the give Trips a rematch then

Didn't JR have a "this business" rant on the round table? I thought it came from that.

I've never liked it. They should call it "this sport", even though it technically isn't. It just sounds better "Business" makes it sound like a meat packing company or something. Strangely real sports like to refer to themselves as businesses too, the most stupid being football/soccer pundits informing us that it's a "results business" as opposed to all those businesses where results don't matter.

Wonder how JR justified Vince McMahon being a former WWF and ECW champion. Just as bad as Arquette IMO. Vince McMahon is JACKED and he's the owner of the company. David Arquette is an actor who just showed up. CM Punk was the champion for over a year and I bet Vince could kick his ass... hell I bet I could

It's more believable for the "Genetic Jackhammer" McMahon to be WWE champ, he's literally been born and raised in the wrestling business-- versus David Duchovny winning the title in a random match that somehow was irresonsibly made for the title. (I know, but he looks like David Duchovny, right??)
It's not only possible but daresay even probable for Vince to 'on any given night' be able to pin Da Champ 1-2-3 (and that goes double for when Umaga is helping out). Vince is highly capable of putting on great matches without it devolving into a gimmicky-farce. That Singapore Cane match with Vince/CM Punk was probably one of my favorite matches of the year when I saw it.
And by that same token, I didn't really mind it when Shane McMahon also got in the ring and quite literally kept 3 main eventers at bay with nothing but his bareknuckle boxing skills that one night on RAW. Or Shane winning the Hardcore title and defending it believably (since he's a 4th-gen crown prince of wrestling and personally took some sick bumps in the process I didn't see him pinning people like Funaki or Crash Holly clean as a big deal).
It's a clear divide when you give the title to someone who's in 'dis business' like a McMahon (who even isn't portrayed to be a full-time wrestler) versus someone outside 'dis business' like Agent Mulder. Twas J.R.'s point I gather.

Wonder how JR justified Vince McMahon being a former WWF and ECW champion. Just as bad as Arquette IMO. I agree about the WWF title, but the ECW title thing I think actually elevated it in some ways - Vince won it through complete shenanigans and he did virtually none of the real wrestling himself. It got a load of heat too. The only stupid thing was that he put over Lashley instead of RVD or someone.
