Viscera against Triple H is the first one that comes to mind.
It was deplorable to see that.
Even if Viscera was injured, there were plenty of other jobbers to do the deed.
A guy Viscera's size should not be booked like that, even against the one true king of kings game destroyer.

This is a really random one, but I hated the Chris Benoit/Orlando Jordan squash at SummerSlam 2005. They went 15 minutes the previous month, and then 25 seconds the next. Shouldn't it have been booked the opposite way? Not sure if it was done as a way to bury Jordan, but damn. That was one I was happy. At GAB, there match was horrible and that is a rarity for a Benoit match. I remember the fans giving him a standing ovation as if "Thank you Chris for having to try to carry the lug." The following series of quick matches were awesome. Let's make some coffee

Diesel over Bob Backlund for the WWF title at an MSG house show. If that happened now there would be a multi-page thread speculating on Backlund's level of the heatz. That was the first thing I thought of too. I remember watching it on the weekend morning show and wondering what the hell a "house show" was.

ECW Barely Legal's opening match between The Eliminators and The Dudley Boys. They were pushing the Eliminators at the time but I don't think the Dudleys got a single bit of offense in. They just took all of the Eliminator's tag moves. Seeing Bubba get squashed now is just bizarre. I never really thought of it as a squash match. Doesn't Bubba also get a powerbomb in during it and he drops an F-Bomb mid move? I remember always thinking that was funny when I was younger.

Looking back on it I think that was probably the first time I heard the term too. It was never explained and until the Internet came along or I read it in an old wrestling magazine it was just a puzzling term.

He might but, if he does, that's likely the only offense he gets in. It's weird because the Dudleys get completely dominated.

Yeah, I forgot to add in my post that the Eliminator he's doing it to might have also wiggled out of it or reversed it. I haven't watched the show in years since I watched it so much when I was younger. Not a bad opening match. Kind of unfortunate though since the Eliminators were split up by the very next PPV while the Dudleys were in ECW for years afterward.

The thing that most people forget is that going into Barely Legal, ECW had absolutely no intention to give the Dudley's a major push. The only reason they won the tag titles in the first place was to have the title change and put over the Eliminators on the PPV. The Dudleys would've most likely have followed the PPV with a decent but forgettable feud with the Gangsta's then gone back to comedy segments had ECW not lost the Eliminators, the Gangsta's and the Pitbulls, the three tag teams the company spent the last year and a half centering the division around, between the first and second PPV. That's when the Dudleys and to a lesser degree the FBI started to be looked at as legitimate championship teams and not curtain jerker fodder.
