I saw both games briefly this morning...
*Vick and the Eagles offense were on fire that first half. Maybe too on fire. They need to rein it in a bit so as to not tire out and risk getting caught by better teams. The O-Line is still a bit suspect.
*RGIII is still rusty, and the Redskins were awful against the run.
*The Chargers choked a 24 point lead last year on MNF, and they choked a 21 point lead last night. The best suggestion? Never play at home on Monday Night Football ever again.
*The Texans should continue to get results by going with a 1-2 in Foster and Tate. They should win the AFC South at a stroll.

To the Pats fans on here: Turns out it took Fragile Handle With Care Amendola showed up late in the game to save your bacon. I thought we had no chance, and Brady had to save your football lives. If Amendola misses any games, they are gonna live and die with Gronk (if he stays healthy) and the no-names. Ridley is high-risk, high-reward- capable of going for 150 as he is of a bad fumble. The Patriots, if they play like this, will get SMOKED by Atlanta, Cincinnati, or New Orleans. This is a 10-6 or 11-5 team, not a 13-3 or 14-2 team like some I hear say. Here's how I see the Pats' year going, personally. Including the Bills game just because. at Bills - W vs. Jets - W vs. Bucs - W at Falcons - W at Bengals - L at Saints - L at Jets - W Dolphins - W Steelers - W at Panthers - W at Broncos - L at Texans - L vs. Browns - W at Dolphins - L at Ravens - W Bills - W The Patriots are still a damn good team, but I do see a couple hard ones on that schedule that might give them trouble; namely, the Bronco game which I can't wait for. So, yeah, I got them at 11-5.

That's probably still enough to win the divison fairly handily.

Suh is going to be working for free before this season is over. A lot of guys say they're going to hit at the knees since head stuff is out so I'd expect more of these types of fines.

Stats from Week 1:
-Six different players had 350 yard passing games, the most ever on Opening Weekend: Peyton Manning(462), Eli Manning(450), Colin Kaepernick(412), Joe Flacco(362), Drew Brees(357), and Matthew Stafford(357).
-Tom Brady is now 11-1 in season opener as starting QB, best record among QB's in Super Bowl era.
-The Patriots won their 10th consecutive season opener, tied for 3rd longest streak in NFL history with the 1930-39 Detroit Lions/Portsmouth Spartans.
-Drew Brees had his 6th straight 300 yard passing game, tied for 2nd longest in NFL history with Steve Young, Kurt Warner, and Rich Gannon, 3 behind his own record of 9 straight.
-Andrew Luck had his 8th game-winning drive in the 4th quarter or OT, most by a QB through the 1st 17 games of his career since the merger.
-Anquan Boldin(13 catches, 208 yards, 1 TD) had the 3rd game of 10+ catches and 200+ yards on Opening Weekend in NFL history and it's the 2nd time in his career that he had at least 10+ catches and 200+ yards in the season opener(Sept. 7, 2003 with Cardinals and the 1st game of his NFL career, 10 catches, 217 yards, 2 TDs). Only other player to do that was Frank Clarke of Dallas in 1962.
-Adrian Peterson's 78 yd TD run and Reggie Bush's 77 yd TD reception marked the 1st time since 1971(Cowboys' Bob Hayes and Bills' Marlin Briscoe) that opposing players had TDs of 75+ yards on Kickoff Weekend.
-Peterson's 78 yd TD run was the longest TD run on a player's 1st carry of the season since the merger.
-Peterson now has 8,942 career rushing yards, 3rd most in NFL history by a player in the 1st 90 games of his career(Eric Dickerson, 9,915, and Jim Brown, 9,322).
-Reggie Bush became the 1st player since the Chargers' Cid Edwards in 1972 to get at least 100 receiving yards and 90 rushing yards in his 1st game with a new team.
-Geno Smith(256 yards, 1 TD pass) became the 1st rookie QB drafted in the 2nd round or later to pass for at least 250 yards and win the game on Kickoff Weekend since the merger.

Coach Chip Kelly believes the Eagles offense was "slow" in Monday night's win.
A source tells the Boston Herald's Karen Guregian that Danny Amendola's (groin) status is uncertain beyond Week 2.

I said it a couple weeks ago and I'll say it again. My BOLD prediction is the Jets are going to beat the Pats this weekend, somebody on their team is going to talk about SUPERBOWL HERE WE COME/IT'S US AGAINST THE WORLD... then completely implode under their own stupidity and win like 4 games total all year.

The Patriots are favored by 12.5 points against the Jets Thursday.
Given the Pats injuries, I'll be shocked if they cover.

I'd take the under on that. Vegas seems to be riding the Jets "Worst team in the league" wagon superhard, when they're merely below-average.

Which is funny. Jacksonville's AFL team is four years old, won their division every year in existence so far, and have won the Arena Bowl once. The Jags? Not even close to that success. That town is supporting the wrong franchise.
