The Shield would have still attacked him, in fact in the original script for the show Ratman WAS naked and dripping wet after being attacked in the shower by The Shield and Kane, before being dragged out before Edge.

But then sense prevailed and Vince realised no one wanted to see any more of Ratman.

It's the same reason no one mentioned if Christian was alive or dead in mid-show recaps too.
