Over the years, we have seen a lot of stuff that made us cringe and wonder "Why did so and so go along with that?"
The obvious answer is they are doing what Vince or whoever think is good for business and its been said he can get pretty pissed when someone refuses him.
But say, you had no fear of being reprimanded or anything for refusing to go along with an angle.
What would you refuse? Do you think it's right to refuse certain angles?
How much would you put up with because you are doing your job?
Personally, I'd refuse any kind of death angle. It's tasteless and not surprising anymore.
I would also like to think that maybe, just maybe it might inspire others to say no and they'd stop doing it.
What about you?

100% agreed.
I would also try to refuse things which make the company look like it is blatantly insulting the audience's intelligence. Things like King and his famous, "look at these fans chanting LET'S GO SHEAMUS".
Really, just pretty much everything King does.

I can't think of any hardline rules I'd have about what I would and wouldn't do. I'd definitely speak up if I wasn't comfortable with something though, and try to come up with something better. People give Bret Hart shit about taking wins/losses and himself too seriously and the like, but in his book he said it's a wrestler's right to question the booking and stand up for himself, otherwise they're just a cork bobbing in the ocean with no control over their destiny. I agree 100%.

I wasn't crazy about recent stuff like using paul bearer in the storyline or jericho pouring booze on punk. Stuff that kids will probably be confused about and adults will sigh watching, knowing the shock value will go to mania and never be brought up again, then a year of endorsing 'kid friendly' product.
Repetition ultimately offends me more than shock value. Guys like Cena and Del Rio, esp. against Sheamus, are the reason I don't follow the product like I used to. The fact that Big Show is in the main storyline with HHH in 2013 is disturbing to me. I feel bad for 90% of upcoming talent.
Sandow losing AGAIN and to Santino bothers me more than death angles. What I dislike as much is mocking real life problems like JR's condition. Elementary school cruelty humor is where I exit.

Katie Vick, "Eddie's in hell", Vince vs. God, "Rosie" vs. "Trump". Pretty much anything to do with death, religion, or politics. I still can't believe the Natalya farting angle actually happened, you'd think maybe somebody would say "What purpose does this serve exactly?" I'm pretty sure it was just meant to bury/embarrass Nattie over something petty. And hell, Vince McMahon loves fart and poop jokes so it could be as simple as that. |

Death, religion, politics, celebrity parodies, celebrity stuntcasting for the sake of celebrity stuntcasting, and storylines that involve factions being singlehandedly destroyed by someone who didn't need the rub in the first place from doing that. Also, Cena blaming his divorce on Rock. Just no.

Racism is wrong, but as a dude who likes dudes, I don't really see the "homophobia" in "homophobic" jokes and I actually think they're funny. Like if John Cena makes some implication that Miz and Alex Riley are banging each other, or that he wants to dominate his opponent by performing sex acts on them, I'll just shrug and say "he ain't talkin' about us, whatevs." If a face made that same joke about a man and his female companion, no one would get in an uproar about it. The only thing I'm really against is "stereotypical" gay gimmicks, like Rico the Glittery Fairy. I much preferred hairstylist Rico, because while he was obviously less than straight, he wasn't completely in your face with it, and he had an air of badassery about him. |

Anything that doesn't have a long term goal. When Creative went to Ryback to tell him he was turning heel to feud with Cena, the first thing out of his mouth should have been "And what happens after that?"
I highly doubt "Well you'll push Josh Mathews and a bunch of other skinny guys around backstage for a few months without any real direction" would have enticed him into agreeing to throw away the last of his momentum in order to put Cena over.

3- "Inside" angles and feuds that make no sense in a kayfabe context.

1. Any angle that has no hope of actually getting someone over, the Natalya farting angle is a good one. How does that improve her standing even remotely?
2. Anything which makes a heel look right or a babyface look like a dick. Neither of these things should ever happen.
