The current divas division

Is it me or is it a bit of a mess at the moment? You have the main heel AJ, the only over diva, who we are supposed to boo yet people cheer for her after she made valid points about the Total Divas cast(bar Natalya),we had a heel turn by Layla that has not really led to anything other then making the Face side of the divas roster smaller, The Bellas being the Bellas, Kaitlyn, probably the one main babyface of the division, was humiliated and well beaten by AJ and has now gone missing in action and all the Total divas cast have been shown to be horrible, bitchy, shallow human beings that i and probably a lot of people just cant root for. Where are they going with the division? Aj and Kaitlyn again? The Bellas and AJ feud despite none of them being faces?

Theres no chance Natalya can be taken seriously for me, shes tapped out several times to AJ this year and was last seen crying after last nights match. The Bellas are awful and hugely unlikeable. The rest of the Total Divas cast offer nothing right now. Naomi is stuck with Cameron in the Funkedactyls. Alicia and Aksana are awful. Layla just turned heel. Kaitlyn has had her chance and blew it. What is there for AJ to do in this division? Any ideas or hopes for the division ahead?

At this point I honestly can't remember the last time the divas division WASN'T a complete mess. Has anyone ever even had a decent reign with the Divas Championship? There only seems to be two types of title reigns - short and transitional, or long and forgettable.

I think AJ's reign has been alright. Constant TV time, mic time, good variety of feuds. The booking has been a bit questionable at times, but I think it's been the best divas reign in recent memory.

A diva division worth talking about at the very least, there have been 6 month periods over the last few years where its barely existed.

They should just have AJ get a very lengthy title reign in the mold of punk/JBL where she barely survives her title matches and then brags about her lengthy title reign and how great she is etc, then bring up a diva on NXT to beat her for the title.

The talent might not be there at the moment, but they're a call-up away. The division is okay right now. Better than any other lower title. The effort and interest from the booking team is present for now and they have something they could build on, they have a very capable performer in AJ. So, I disagree with the premise of this thread.

The match last night was actually pretty fun.

The most over Diva is the women's champion, and finally a number of the other Divas are getting a real angle. It's not THAT messed up. It may not last, but it's actually closer to getting fixed at the moment than it has in a long while.


Even if it is just because of Total Divas, I hope this time around they're able to fix the division completely like what might have happened if not for Kharma's pregnancy. If it does get more touch-ups, then not only can we start seeing some actually good Diva action and stories, they can shift their focus to the midcard and lowcard; both of which need it pretty BAD.

My god you people hate so easily. I still like every diva and don't really got the hate for any of them. ohhhh Cameron has catchphrases she's now the most terrible person on earth.

It's not a high bar, but it clears it anyway. It's some kind of progress. Not as fast as I'd like, but it's an improvement. There may be hope for this sorry-ass division yet.

Nah, I was thinking more along the lines of: she goes in sober and gets her ass kicked until Nikki pours some booze down her throat and she hulks up and starts kicking all sorts of ass.

It's been varying degrees of a mess for years. They've got enough talent for a good division (they generally always do), but they need time and effort.

The problem with this current AJ vs Total Divas feud is that AJ is still the only one they've focused on and given proper attention to during the feud, and she's the one that needed that attention the least. She's already established, has a character and personality and has had plenty of airtime in her career, everything the other divas lack. The Total Divas got to beat up AJ a couple times, but they needed time to give a rebuttal to what AJ said in her initial promo (which struck a nerve with people as its what fans have been saying for years). They should have let Natalya talk about how she's worked her whole life to be a wrestler, let Naomi talk about how she chose to pursue a career as a wrestler when she already had a career as a dancer and cheerleader because she was passionate about it, and let Brie talk about how she and her sister didn't have to return to the WWE and get back in the ring (and could have made an easy living elsewhere) but they chose to come back because they love it. Give fans something to sink their teeth into, give them a reason to get behind these women.

I don't understand the mindset that the Total Divas aren't likeable on the show. Naomi, Natalya, Brie and JoJo all come off like perfectly normal women, and ultimately all their intentions are good. Are they selfish at times? Of course, all humans are. The only girls that have really come off badly from Total Divas have been Nikki, Eva and Arianne; two of whom you're supposed to boo anyway.

Alicia Fox is not awful.

Kaitlyn disappearing is par the course seeing as they've moved on from her feud. I imagine she'll pop up again soon.

I think AJ will ultimately turn face (they always push heels and make them interesting so they begin to get cheered, then turn them face) but Natalya or Naomi would both be great choices to face her while she's heel, as they both have the potential to get over and are both capable of having great matches. Just give them 10% of the time and effort they've put into AJ and they're set.

There's always Summer Rae, an AJ/Big E vs Fandango/Summer fed would be great.

Although it's probably best for Summer that she spends some more time as a valet, she certainly shouldn't go straight into a championship feud.

I know this is the wrestling equivalent of Godwinn's Law, but compare this Divas Division to the current Knockout Division right now and it's a goldmine in comparison.

WWE just ran six diva tag team matches on Raw and SD last week. TNA is so barren of women's talent they can't even do that. In fact, I don't even know if they can run a 2v2 tag team match right now.

As long as WWE continues their formula of pushing women ABOVE the Divas Division to get them over, it will never be truly fixed.
