Edge's "War on things that suck"

Does anyone else remember around the time of Edge beating the crap out of the laptop, he came out on RAW and declared war on everything that sucked in WWE? I don't recall anything ever coming of it because he got sent over to SmackDown the very next week, but man is that missed potential. I was really looking forward to Edge just interrupting random crap like the stupid comedy skits and crappy match finishes. Sadly, it was not to be. Someone new should pick up the torch, because there's still some suck lurking around.

I can just imagine them giving this to The Miz, in addition to that whole second coming of Ric Flair deal. They're not going to give up until everyone loves The Miz, dammit.

At the time I thought they had dropped it because well, pretty much everything in wrestling is stupid.

I loved how he immediately went from that to the incredibly stupid 'kidnapping Paul Bearer' angle. Also bashing Swaggie and the soaring eagle was totally hypocritical considering the offbeat shenanigans of Edge and Christian from 2000/2001.

The best thing about that angle was that he was on a crusade against stupid, and then a month later was involved in a horrendously stupid storyline with Kane and Paul Bearer.

Speaking of Miz, I remember Miz facing a Face Edge in 2010 and either defeating him or it going to a no contest due to interference? Was that when Edge came back to win RR 2010 or the second time he turned face that year and destroying the laptop?

Also it continued for a bit when he was traded to Smackdown, as he attacked Jack Swagger's Eagle calling it stupid.

They had some tv matches in early 2011, I was, umm, fortunate enough to see one of them live at the go-home Raw for Royal Rumble 2011.

"World Heavyweight Champion Edge defeated WWE World Champion Mike Mizanin (w/ Alex Riley) via disqualification at 16:39 when Dolph Ziggler, who provided guest commentary for the match, tripped Edge as he attempted to hit the spear on Miz; ; neither title was at stake in the match; following the ring entrances, Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero came out to join the commentary team; Edge's ribs were taped for the bout; after the contest, Ziggler dropped Edge with the Zig Zag, with Randy Orton then running out and dropping Riley and Ziggler with the RKO; Miz then hit Orton with his briefcase before running up the ramp"

I remember watching that match and thinking, with a tear in my eye, The Miz is a lot like if Ric Flair was a much better wrestler.

It would have been the second time.
His first face run started at RR 2010 after he returned from an injury suffered in the summer of 2009. He had an abysmal run as a face on Smackdown, was randomly turned heel by Christian after being drafted to Raw, then turned face again during his laptop feud.

I miss Edge... and I REALLY miss Uber heel Michael Cole. Say what you want about his feud with King, he was really into his character.

That was an awful year for RAW.

Edge should have put up a mirror and speared it considering how idiotic the story was.

The guy went from being super cool heel in 2006 to some guy that overacted being crazy and yelled at the wrong times. It was awful to see what the guy had become because he was already way past his prime.
