New Japan's next big iPPV is only a week away & once again, it looks like it'll be a happening. A couple big things have happened for it the last couple of days. A stipulation was added to the Devitt vs. Tanahashi match, it'll now be a Lumberjack Death Match to try & stop the rampant interference of the Bullet Club that Devitt has relied on so much since his heel turn. New Japan also announced that CMLL's Mascara Dorada will be the mystery partner for the New Japan team in the big 8 man tag against the Bullet Club team.

I legitimately do have the money, so I think I will be buying this one. Give them something for the hours and hours of entertainment this year. Looks to be a tremendous card.

I got the first show this month, and passed on the second show. I'll definitely be getting this one. Should be a real good show, as usual.

So can anyone explain what some of the major stories are?
Minor stories too, if you have the time.

The two main event story lines recently have been involving Bullet Club and Prince Devitt's feuds with Okada and Tanahashi. There's Tetsuya Naito and his G1 Climax win being used as another Money In the Bank of sorts like Okada's was last year where he put his shot on the line a few times before Wrestle Kingdom. Toru Yano's quest to piss off Minoru Suzuki and Sakuraba getting his revenge on Nagata for breaking his arm are also minor stories.

So Devitt's never defending the Junior Heavyweight title ever again, right?

He will eventually defend it on Korakuen level shows. My guess is that Taguchi returns in this big show and then he goes on to beat Devitt either at the end of the year or at Wrestle Kingdom.

Recently, New Japan held a press conference with DDT to announce something unprecedented. One of Japan's most exciting junior heavyweights and a recent IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Kota Ibushi, is now officially a New Japan wrestler! But...he's also a DDT wrestler! Yes, Ibushi will be the first ever wrestler to belong to two organizations by joining New Japan while also staying with DDT who he has remained loyal to despite his "big league" talent. Ibushi confirmed he will focus on being a New Japan junior for now despite an admirable performance in the G1 Climax against heavyweights, which should enliven a junior division thoroughly dominated by Prince Devitt. Ibushi will debut as a New Japan wrestler as "X"(joining Makabe & Honma)in the New Japan vs. Bullet Club six man tag match at Sumo Hall on 10/14. Don't be surprised if this resurrects the Ibushi vs. Devitt rivalry. In other Sumo Hall news, Alex Shelley has been forced to withdraw from the show with a herniated disc, meaning the Time Splitters can no longer challenge Forever Hooligans for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. Instead, Suzukigun's TAKA Michinoku & Taichi will challenge. Credit: www.puroresufan.com

So, what time will the ippv air? I'm in China for a year, so watching an ippv from Japan on won't be murder for my sleep schedule.

Why does Shelton Benjamin now have a middle initial?

Why does Shelton Benjamin now have a middle initial? Long story short, Suzukigun was promoting that they had a new member named "Mr.X" (not Homer Simpson). Mr. X was revealed to be Shelton Benjamin, who goes by the nickname "Invader X". I'm probably wrong, but I think the X is there because of Malcolm X.

2. "Destruction" Return Match: Minoru Suzuki d. Toru Yano via pin at 7:09 with the Gotch-Style Piledriver.
3. Tenzan Return & Watanabe Farewell Match: Killer Elite Squad(Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith, Jr.) d. Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Takaaki Watanabe via pin at 11:48 after Archer & Smith used the Killer Bomb on Watanabe & Archer pinned him.
4. Special 6 Man Tag Team Match - Kota Ibushi's New Japan Affiliation 1st Match: The Bullet Club(Prince Devitt, Karl Anderson & Bad Luck Fale) d. Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma & Kota Ibushi via pin at 10:37 when Anderson hit the Gun Stun on Honma.
5. Special "G1 Climax" Return Match: Katsuyori Shibata d. Tomohiro Ishii via pin at 15:47 after a G2S followed by the PK.
6. Special Singles Match: Yuji Nagata d. Kazushi Sakuraba via pin at 10:25 with a Backdrop Hold.
7. NEVER Openweight Title(& IWGP Heavyweight Championship shot): Tetsuya Naito d. Yujiro Takahashi via submission at 16:35 with the Pluma Blanca to retain both the NEVER Openweight Title & his 1/4/14 shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
8. IWGP Intercontinental Title Match: Shinsuke Nakamura d. Naomichi Marufuji via pin at 16:18 after hitting the Boma Ye twice to win the match & retain the IWGP Intercontinental Title.
9. IWGP Heavyweight Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada d. Hiroshi Tanahashi via pin at 35:17 with the Rainmaker to win the match & retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Some Notes* After Intermission, there was a big surprise as the ring announcer introduced 2 men who would appear at "Wrestle Kingdom 8" in January. Those 2 men were both members of the legendary Gracie family, Daniel & Rolles, who spoke English and issued an open challenge to anyone, which wasn't answered...for a while. After their match, Yuji Nagata called the Gracies into the ring, speaking English & challenging them to a match and saying New Japan Pro-Wrestling is the King of Sports to a big pop. Sakuraba, once known as the "Gracie Killer" when he was a national hero in the PRIDE promotion, managed to pick himself up & spoke, forming a union with his rival & reissuing the challenge to the Gracies! We appear to have our first 1/4 Tokyo Dome match as the veteran team of Nagata & Sakuraba look to ward off the Gracie invasion of New Japan! * After Nakamura successfully defended his Intercontinental Title against Marufuji, Suzuki-gun appeared with Minoru Suzuki issuing a challenge to Nakamura for a shot at his Title. * Tanahashi had said leading in that he would not challenge for the IWGP heavyweight Championship again if he lost today. This seemed like a spoiler of the main event, yet he lost...and said farewell in his post-match interview. Okada(only able to do his Rainmaker pose with one arm as the other had an ice pack against it)showed his "evolution" in a different way after the match by giving a full promo...usually, Gedo steps in & speaks for Okada who seems quite uneasy with the whole promo thing, but today Okada spoke for himself. Never afraid to ruin everyone's day, the Bullet Club appeared, with Devitt stepping on the apron. This seemed strange as Devitt only challenged Okada for the title a few months ago, but this was a red herring as Karl Anderson attacked Okada from behind & beat him up. Anderson went crazy on the microphone, bringing up the G1 Climax 2012 final when Okada beat him in a very close match. Anderson said that result had taken everything from him and he would in turn take the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from Okada. And so this appears to be the last title match before the Tokyo Dome when Naito will face the winner. Credit: www.puroresufan.com/njpw
