I really don't get the vibe that everyone here hates him. The prevailing FAN sentiment seems to be that enlightened well adjusted wrestling fans love Miz, Wyatts, Bryan, HHH, AJ, Cena and Dolph. Probably a few more. Only filthy reprobates would dare not be fans of them. Like any mention of HHH or Miz in a thread brings on laments about how people are being so awful toward them, whether or not there's even a critical post in that thread yet.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious how I feel about the Miz and even I thought Steph's promo was too much. You don't criticize someone in a way that they can't rebound from. I guess as a result, no more personal appearances or PR from Miz or anything like that. Worked shoots are only good every so often. Having a running theme every week with them is annoying and counterproductive. This beats twerking with R-Truth cheering him on. Miz has been irrelevant for some time now, with one of the least consequential face turns in a while. I still like Mike Mizanin quite a bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if his involvement in the main storyline is a sink or swim situation before they fully move him to the announce team. The guy needs to prove himself and I say that as a fan of his.

The Big Show probably wasn't a fan of the Miz's plaid print on the collar of his blazer.

I swear there was a time when Miz was actually beloved by people. That wasn't a fever dream, was it? It.......may've been. That, or Barrett had X-Pac heat and Miz's **** looked like gold in comparison.

I'm a huge Miz fan, but I honestly think last night was supposed to be Shows heel turn. I mean he suckerpunched a guy who got destroyed so bad he can't wrestle and did it with no hesitation following a verbal murder by Stephanie. The fans didn't seem to care though hell some of em seemed happy about it.
On the topic of the Steph promo, what she said was true obviously but like others said it was kind of shitty thing to do, reminded me of when Punk decided to randomly call out Miz on his lack of wrestling skill (which is stupid but that is a whole other argument. Miz is left with no verbal comeback I mean what can he say, "Yeah but I'm the most must see......... ohh right you just said I'm pretty much worthless".
I can see two things coming from this-
1. Miz turns heel and joins the Neo-Corporation after murderlizing Big Show (who is crying about something he had to do), justify the turn by saying that he realizes where the money and fame is and he doesn't mind kissing ass to get it, turn him into a "Boss's Go to Guy", make him super weaselly, tattling on other superstars, bringing coffee to Steph and Trips, talking up Orton and other Corporate guys, losing on purpose to said Corporate guys, even have him schilling WWE stuff all the time. Hell can even give him the World Title as a "reward", (bascially have a face get stripped of the title and Miz is simply given it so that Smackdown has a corporate presence). This role would be perfect for Miz, IMO.
or
2. We see the debut of "Badass Face Miz", which we got shades of last night with his, "I'm pissed off!" line that got nothing from the crowd, like I said I'm huge Miz fan. In real life I'm sure Miz is a great dude but in WWE land he just looks like a douche and acts like douche. Miz will never be a conquering hero type, but a weaselly evil Ric Flair esque heel, that is where he excels. He already has the stigma of "he doesn't deserve it" (which is bullshit in itself) why not run with that stigma and turn him into the heel I suggested in the first part?

He wasn't too distraught by it either. This. He just shrugged it off and walked away, like he didn't even care. What a stark contrast to his earlier knockout where he was deeply bothered by the acts he committed.

At least the segment with Punk was built as the two "shooting" on each other, and Miz had a live mic. He could've responded, "something something I won that title you're so proud of holding so I must know what the hell I'm doing, right?", not great but better than nothing or "your mom ohhhhhh". Last night, just like the Miz TV on Smackdown with Triple H a few weeks ago, Miz had no chance to retort. If they're going to talk big and make the biting comments, at least give the talent a chance to defend themselves verbally. It would make for a better segment. But, that might make Steph or Triple H look less sexycoolbadass, and that can't happen.

It was funny. It came across like Show spent enough time with The Miz to know he is a douche, and would of punched him in the face regardless of Stephanie ordering him too.

The guy needs to prove himself and I say that as a fan of his. But does it have to be? If Miz "fails" to prove himself, does he have to be fully moved to the announce team? He's a decorated superstar. In October, he'll be 33, which is still relatively young. He still carries a good deal of star power. When Miz is in the hunt for the Intercontinental Championship, it actually feels relevant and prestigious. I actually LIKED Miz twerking. I liked his entire program with FAndango because of how laid back and nonsensical it was compared to the doom and gloom of everything else. When Miz just gets to cut loose and be goofy, he can be the most entertaining guy oin the roster. I know a lot of people don't like the "comedy douchebag upper card face" but Miz is one of those guys for whom it would be a huge improvement. If Miz can't get back up to the upper echelon, there's no reason why he still can't be an over midcarder or competing in the tag division, using what notoriety he has already gained to boost the midcard.

Renee Young: "Big Show, I know you're trying to put on a brave face, but it must have been terrible for you, having to brutally punch out the Miz in order to protect your job."
Big Show: "...wait, my job was on the line?"

I saw it more as Show pissed at Miz for calling him a coward (the truth hurts kinda thing) so he has no problem knocking him out, not as a heel turn or even him hating Miz.

In Kayfabe, he should be using that move all the time in the first seconds of the match.

I'd also like to see #1 before #2. He's so much better in the former role. He's more convincing because he seems more comfortable being the cocky, weaselly heel. After all this time he seems nervous and a little lost as a face. He'd be perfect as an openly politicking, corporate kiss ass.
