Hey, look who else they missed? ![](http://www.popgunchaos.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Tick.jpg) It didn't last long, but it was pretty consistently clever. ![](http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/images/reviews/190/1175161968_1.jpg) As much as I hate the comic strip Garfield, the show was actually pretty damn good. After this disappeared, CBS didn't have a Saturday morning lineup afterwards. Coincidence? Maybe. ![](http://themichaelshowpodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/ducktales4.jpg) Everyone watched this show when I was a kid. Everyone. EV-ERY-ONE!! ![](http://comicsonline.com/wp-content/uploads/files/pokemon-tv-series-diamond-pearl-cast.jpg) Look, I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I can't argue the popularity it had, surely you'd put it on there with other shows that were insanely popular. I mean I wouldn't say Flintstones was amazing, but it belongs because it was popular. And when the f*** was Peanuts a TV show? I know it had specials...but I never knew there was a show, let alone one that people actively put up with. I'd think the voice acting would drive you insane after 4 episodes.

I just noticed Drawn Together here too. Yeah, that's bullshit, that show f***ing sucked. Good character designs hampered by witless and mean spirited writing with too many gross out gags.
Repeating what I said in the MLP thread: - Avatar should definitely be in South Park's spot (I know one's a comedy show and one's an action cartoon, but the quality differences between ATLA's whole run and SP's last few seasons are that stark). - Sonic SatAM should be somewhere on this list. - I love the Looney Tunes, but I don't agree with putting theatrical shorts in lists that are primarily made up of TV shows with half hour story arcs. Even worse is when people try to shove Looney Tunes compliation films like the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie in feature film lists that also contain Lion King and Spirited Away. Now if it were the (underrated) Looney Tunes Show, that'd be understandable.
I'd also put Family Guy over Spongebob, replace Peanuts with King Of The Hill, and find spots for Rocko, TTA, Gargoyles and The Critic.

And when the f*** was Peanuts a TV show? I know it had specials...but I never knew there was a show, let alone one that people actively put up with. I'd think the voice acting would drive you insane after 4 episodes. Lasted about 2 seasons They're certainly not referencing that. I'm so glad I missed that by a couple years, and thankfully no network lunatic put that into syndication on any of the networks when I was a kid, otherwise I may not be here. As far as Looney Tunes "not being a show", well that's besides the point. Most people found Looney Tunes through syndicated programming just like The Three Stooges. It's lifeline was TV, not the silver screen. I'm not the kind of person who would ever say there was an absolute, but Looney Tunes revolutionized animation so goddamn much, I don't see a counter argument. I don't know their criteria for listing these, but shit...if I was paid to make this list, you best be sure that I wouldn't half ass it like they did. I don't want to claim a bias, but I certainly could grab 60 cartoons and put them in an order that would give you explanation why it was, where it was. Here? They gave a top 10 and then vaguely put the rest in alphabetical order. I guess they weren't getting paid enough.

He-Man? Even 80s kids like myself know that wasnt even one of the better toy-based cartoons, even with nostalgia goggles on. If you needed a toy-based show why not GI Joe or Dungeons and Dragons (i'd also suggest beast wars or Transformers Animated, but that may have been too obscure for TV Guide). And yeah, no Ducktales is odd, especially since they gave the show a glowing review when it first came out .
EDIT: And it looks like the only anime they have is Battle of the Planets. I'd replace that one with Robotech, which was also a cut-and-paste translation, but at least it took itself more seriously.

Now I see that Drawn Together is on there. That show was awful. Just absolutely terrible. I will admit it had one very VERY good episode, but every other episode I watched (and I watched a lot back then for some reason) fell so incredibly flat on the painful and obvious humor that was there to shock you into laughing as opposed to being legitimately funny. As I said before, it had a good episode where they all do a role play situation for the Link character to come out to his parents, which immediately gets out of hand, which was pretty clever. Any other time, they were pushing the envelope that so many other shows desperately also tried, with little to no substance underneath. Sometimes, you need to give someone a reason to laugh...as opposed to just throwing anything at them in desperation. I started reading your post and thought to myself "He better be talking about the Xander's Parents Role-play episode, because that's about the only one that was worth a shit". Glad to know there's someone who agrees with me on that.

My biggest shock was seeing Iron Man: Armored Adventures on the list. Because I haven't heard anything overwhelmingly positive or negative about the show.
My biggest disappointment, no Venture Bros.
Come on they were able to take what started out as a Johnny Quest parody and manage to create an entire ever expanding mythology for the characters and maintain the perfect balance between shocking and clever.

No Recess and no Hey Arnold?
Disappointed X-Men: Evolution didn't get any love too. From season 2 onwards that was a fantastic show with really good storylines. I especially loved the story-arc where Magneto turns Mystique's plans to defeat him against her and exposes mutants to the world.
Also disagree with Simpsons been number 1. At it's prime, yeah, definitely. But the fact is, the show has been awful for years now yet they continue to churn out new episodes. So, given the amount of bad episodes, I can't see how it can be #1. Personally, not sure what I'd pick #1 to be.

The weird thing is I enjoyed the hell out of the 1st season of Venture Bros. then totally fell out of favor with it by season 2. It wasn't bad by any means, but it went in a direction that I didn't want. Here's another one that will likely get overlooked by a ton of people, but I thought Mission Hill was pretty damn good.

Also, Mighty Max should have been on there.
That episode took everything that was awesome for young boys in the early 90s and blended it together to make an amazing cartoon series. Also the shows finale was awesome stuff.

I don't see anything notably missing...they got the top 5 right anyway. Though, I dunno what Batman TAS is.
