That's a damned shame. That other 99.9 is missing out. GREAT flick. It's not even the movie. Just a weird quote in general. It's not exactly something that most people would remember 20 years later. I've never seen Tombstone and I knew exactly what it meant, somehow. Context clues? Pop-cultural osmosis? Who knows?

You know it was a good night if a Tombstone reference somehow snuck in.

Cowboy slang for "I'm the guy you're looking for" Dusty is an old dude from Texas. Probably a conman phrase for him.
Also derived from the fact that in the 1800s, Handles on a coffin were called Huckles. The original phrase is "I'm your Hucklebearer" meaning "I'll be the man to carry your dead body"

It was in the same vein as Triple H quoting H.P. Lovecraft via Metallica: a cool quote that, if you knew where it was from, became even cooler.

I alluded to this story in the Raw thread but: Once an old dude came into my judo club who I'd never seen before. Brown belt, which was a few grades higher than me at the time. Well, time for Randori (sparring) comes and he asks me to go. Being a sort of dumb young man I agree and crack a joke about how I'm not sure I want to go against an old man. He responds with a grin and tells me if I want a good fight "I'll be your huckleberry." I than proceed to learn several very painful lessons in the next few minutes. He ended up being a really awesome asset to our club.

Context clues? Pop-cultural osmosis? Who knows? Same with me, though I do know where I heard the quote before. During the Attitude Era, Raw Magazine did a story on wrestlers' tattoos and they mentioned Dennis Knight's tat of Doc Holliday. His ink also includes the line "I'm your huckleberry"

He meant he'd happily paint his fence for him and call him a racial epithet.

I'm surprised some people call it an obscure quote. It's one of the most famous movie lines ever. Hell, I still hear it once or twice a year, & have used it in the past myself.

Maybe it's a regional thing, damn near everyone would recognize the quote down here, and would prolly quote the rest from the showdown with Ringo @ the climax.

The crowd popped to that line like they all knew what that meant. I pissed myself laughing at that. 'I'll be your huckleberry all night long!' YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY-what the f***?
