You know, we've had a "Worst song" round before, so you could use Jillian then. Deuce and Domino's theme would do well in a wrestling theme Round . Very catchy.

It happens. The original is cool too, imo. Patti Smith does crazy things with it but whatcha gonna do? Hopefully Round 3 is more favorable to my pick.

Just so we're all on the same page, does the next round song mean that we pick a song that just references family at some point, whether it be vaguely or directly? Or, the way it's written up now, it has to be a song that is primarily about the concept of family.

I've just seen judges in the past judge based on how the songs fit the category instead of just which song is what they actually feel is the most solid pick overall.

For example, I don't want anyone (me included) to fall into a situation where they pick a song that just mentions something about family, but because Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" is all about it in their song, someone else automatically gets down-scored because their pick isn't really a song about family at all--there just might be a "Hi mom" lyric in there somewhere even though the song as a whole is totally about being famous.

Just making sure I understand what the instructions to judges are about judging rounds like this.

It's both. It could directly or indirectly refer to family, or refer to friends as the artists family

Question: Is it just referencing family or can it be related to family in some other way, i.e. with band members?

When we did it last Season, contestants could also pick songs from bands that counted family members among its members (brothers, sisters, etc.), duets between relatives, and artists covering songs originally performed by family members?

Different Season, though, so it's up to the Host and judges on how they want to do things.

As mentioned above it could be actual family or symbolic family

For example if I wrote a song for FAN saying you guys are like my family, then that would qualify for this round

i'm sorry guys. I am no musical expert, nor is my opinion the be all end all, but to be honest as I am listening through these songs, I can't help to feel that there is not much but a lot of "meh" here

That's perfectly alright, fw. Everybody has different opinions what they think sounds good and why. I'd be lying if I thought every single pick so far has been amazing.

As long as you're honest and do your job as a judge effectively then I'd say you're doing a fine job.

I'm doing ok we got some good judges so I say they are making good progress.

I just hope I can avoid the dreaded final 3 sing off.
