Borrowed from Meltzer's daily update:
Cena was on Dan LeBatard's ESPN 2 show today and asked what was the most shame he ever had in wrestling? He said losing to The Rock in Miami and then said, "There is a huge back story to the match. Things didn't go the way he wanted. Maybe in 20 years me and The Rock will get around a talbe and talk about it."

I watched this. Sounds like he thought the plan all along was he was gonna win, and things changed last minute.

The only way it would have made sense for Cena to win in Miami is if they were planning on turning him heel after.

Eeeer, Rock expected to win twice in a row for a part time wrestler? I mean he won against Punk twice but it wasn't at Wrestlemania and those had SHENANIGANS!
Its probably something else.

he probably didn't want to have to rely on Cena making a mistake to win as they did with him turning a People's Elbow by Cena into a Rock Bottom.
Or he thought Cena would be the champ going into the match and Rock would win it, with the World Title becoming the main belt while Rock becomes hated for never defending it

Perhaps the original plan that Rock agreed to was Cena turning heel as an outcome of the match.

Perhaps the original plan that Rock agreed to was Cena turning heel as an outcome of the match. Why would Rock care about that? Maybe he thought the story would have gone better that way. Maybe Rock preferred the idea of their rematch being about him trying to get revenge on Cena for doing something dastardly to him in Miami rather than the WWE title.

Oh Dear Lord...PLEASE don't let it be a contract-signing table.

The story was more "Cena screwed up" than "The Rock beat Cena."

Maybe he didn't like the build up? I don't know.

My guess is that Rock didn't like having to look like an idiot so that it looked like he couldn't wash Cena's balls.
All that "You're never here" and "You have to write your lines on your hands" stuff.

That feud did get a little too personal for my liking, especially when The Rock made an allusion to John Cenas failing marriage.
I love heated feuds, but bringing up really personal information like that seems really tacky to me.
You can just imagine what I thought about the whole CM Punk and Paul Bearer debacle. Good match at least..

Maybe he didn't like the build up? I don't know. I wouldn't have. WWE made every attempt to try and manufacture a 50/50 split, when in reality, for a whole year, it was 95/5 in favor Rock and would have been at that point no matter what. The vast majority of fans bought that show to see Rock return and humble Cena (not Sheiky old country-style, though), and that night they got what they wanted. Cena winning there, at that point, would have been ridiculous and disappointing to the bulk of the paying audience. The house was drawn on Rock returning and winning. Cena was the heel.

Rock return and humble Cena (not Sheiky old country-style, though) Maybe that's the part of the angle that got changed at the last minute and pissed Rock off. 'Cause the promos between those two leading up to 'Mania were sure dripping with innuendo.

The story was more "Cena screwed up" than "The Rock beat Cena." I think that was about Cena trying to outshine The Rock by beating him with the elbow, only for The Rock to strike at the perfect moment to show whos boss. I re watched both the matches recently and came to the conclusion that it was an amazing story and feud, I just kinda didnt like the characters in it.
