A few months back, I had the chance to talk with the man formerly known as the Ultimate Warrior but have just put the video online. I was the last guy he was supposed to talk to that day and he was sick of hearing the same questions over and over again ("how did it feel to win at WrestleMania VI?") so I tried to ask him some new questions. In the end, we were both pretty happy with the interview (I got a few "that's a good question"). Here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZIxMW_C-qcIt's only 10 minutes long but I like how it turned out. Please tell me what you think about it.

That was really interesting to watch. Every time I see interviews with Warrior these days he seems more and more sane and the people who bash him seem crazier and crazier. Thanks for posting that, and great job with the question selection.

That first question cracked me up how he just said NO. Seems like a very serious guy. I respect his honesty a lot. Even though he's meant to be plugging the game he never goes down the corporate bland answer route.
What's he like in person? Intimidating?

He is VERY intimidating. The Spanish guy who was interviewing him while I was setting up my camera was crapping his pants. But I made a point of showing him that I wasn't scared and he like that (at one point I told him that I'm was not kissing his ass and he turned all red and burst out laughing, it's pretty funny, I have it on tape).

VERY cool interview. I love all Warrior's interviews and you asked some great questions. I also had no idea Owen got along well with Warrior. So it seems Warrior's friends in the business were Macho Man, Owen, ad Jim Powers.
And I LOVE that HHH comment he made. Warrior is absolutely his own man.

What's funny is that before the interviews started, Warrior came out and talked to all the journalists in the room. At one point, Triple H came discretly into the room and leaned against a wall in the back. Warrior took a jab at him at one point and HHH laughed. I think I've got it on tape also.

He seems to have mellowed quite a bit in the last say three-four years.
Interesting interview. Thanks for posting.

Very good interview. I hope you upload that part with Triple H if you got it on tape.

He could seriously don the facepaint and tassels now and have a great small run. I'd pay a shit ton of money to see Warrior vs Cena.

I probably would have had a hard time trying to put a brave front if I was you. Questions were good as it didn't branched from the usual topics (WM VI, Hogan, etc).
He seems in better spirits than the last interview I saw when he seemed agitated at some of the questions the interviewer was throwing at.

Great interview, you asked some good questions and he gave some good answers. He had to have some respect for you, as he seemed to take the interview seriously.
On a side note, after re-watching the interview above after he stated he went to Indiana State, I had to look it up and I never realized he was a fellow Hoosier. I guess the Parts Unknown thing would explain it.

Great interview, he really seemed to open up to you and he was clearly not just repeating the same stuff over and over.
Excellent job, man.

This was actually surprisingly awesome. Warrior has been really open with this stuff as of late, I think I'm more interested in hearing his interviews then I am hearing about the game. If Highspots or Kayfabe Commentaries got to sit Warrior down for a good shoot I think it could be must see shit.

You elicited some great responses from him. Warrior is eloquent and humble. Wow, so hard to believe that back then he was this rambling incoherent space cadet character. He was smart to look the boss in the eye whenever he had something on his mind. I especially liked his story of his daughters telling him that Barbie would never go out with a guy like Ultimate Warrior!

Savage, Powers, Owen, and to a lesser extent Taker were Warrior's friends.
I believe Kerry Von Erich was his bestie.

Very good interview. It's weird on how some guys like Macho Man and Warrior were deemed the most insane in the 80's but they seem to be the most sane guys who quietly retired financially set and in good health.
