It depends on the movie but I've grown to appreciate sitting up front. Great space for your legs, you're less likely to have to share an armsrest with someone, the likelyhood of sitting by yourself is higher and best of all you can fart all you want.

I always sit in the back because I'm tall. My dad loves sitting in the front though, so you're not alone.

I misread sitting as shitting.

My sister and her husband once got last-minute tickets to see Cloverfield in 3D IMAX. They got seats in the very very front row. For an IMAX. For *Cloverfield*.
Needless to say, I'm still unsurprised that my sister walked out after like twenty minutes feeling like she was about to puke.

My favourite spot is 5 rows from the front. Close enough to the screen, but far away enough that you don't have to look upwards.

God no. I wish I bought my tickets to avatar IMAX 3D earlier and got in line earlier Luckily in this country we get assigned seats before entry, usually chosen by ourselves.

Not really as one of the annoying movie going experiences I've ever had was trying to watch the Dark Knight at a IMAX screening where I had trouble seeing what was going on the bloody gigantic screen.

I can't say that I do. I always try to sit in the very back row, that way nobody is behind me and I can see everything well.

Nope.
I don't like having to crane my neck for hours at at time.

Why are you allowed to fart there? What if someone is behind you?

Nope. The theaters that I go to have stadium seating, so it's been a very long time since I've been to one in which the seats were on the floor.
I typically sit in a row about halfway up and always in a middle seat. I never have to worry about sharing an armrest because I always go on Monday or Tuesday afternoons. Cheap matinee tickets and almost no one else there is heaven.

God no
I had to sit at the front for Insidious 2 & Prisoners and it was terrible and I Couldn't see s***.
I saw Insidious again (first time was a combo of crap seat & awful audience) but I'd already seen Prisoners so that time didn't bother me as such

Eh, no, too much of a neck strain, especially if it's a large screen. I like to try to find a spot close to smack dab in the middle of the theatre- because likewise, if I'm in a balcony seat, I always feel like I'm too far away from the action.

Agree with the "no" voters. I also like that if I'm farther back, I can see the whole screen without having to turn my head around a bunch, in case I miss something from one side.
'Cause I'm lazy.
