I understand what you are saying Bad News, and to an extent I agree, but I don't think all 'forced' pushes end badly for the wrestler. McIntyre was a case where it did start to work but then WWE just lost interest. Gunner and Crimson just weren't getting over whether TNA pushed them a little or a lot. I think EC3 is a character who can become a big deal, fairly quickly, a push that initially worked for ADR until WWE booking cut his feet out from under him and led to the bland paper champion we have today.
Really I'm half-joking with this thread, I do think it would be perfect just for Dixie to say that Ethan has "put himself in the conversation" for a title shot due to his impressive win over Norn Fernum.

The real question is when will EC3 be inducted into the EGO Hall of Fame?

No. Build him up. The last person who was rushed was Austin Aires. Look at him now. Either way, TNA will screw his character up. In 5 months we all will be here wondering how TNA could have screwed up the EC3 character. Yeah, he's a regular main eventer and one of the most over guys in the company. Tragic.

Oh, don't worry, he will be. He's had a short stint in the WWE, he'll be in the main event in no time.

Don't worry about these budget cuts. Ethan is here to straighten this shit out. Nobody f***s around on EC3's watch . Janice has mastered the Budget Cutter and is not afraid on using it on anyone including family. If he steps out of line, he get a running Budget Cutter.

He would be someone good to heat up. I like how they're having him wrestle jobbers, but it would be a good idea, mostly because Dixie lacks a real motivation and there's no match with AJ vs Dixie. Dixie is also not having someone be part of "Team Dixie" to try and get the title from AJ. So if they really wanted to heat up Carter, he beats some name guys and he gets that shot to win the belt back for Aunt D.

I think EC3 can be a good fit for the X-Division, actually. He's small enough to competes, but will be on the larger end of the scale. And if it does work, that Destination X title shot is going to come at the exact right time. If it doesn't, there's always Hardy, Joe, Aries, or any of the other established main eventers.

Would Ethan really fit in the X-Division? Sure he's a top end cruiserweight, but guys like Hardy, Joe, and Aries are known for their unorthodox in-ring styles. Even without the Destination X cash in, I can still see a guy like Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, or Austin Aries as X-Division Champion because their in-ring styles fit with the fast paced, athletic style of the X-Division. I haven't seen any indication that Ethan can do the same.

Got to get the character over with fans first. Right now, he's basically Jesse Godderz if he was Dixie's nephew. Flesh out his character and get the crowd familiar with his antics. Did Vince do that with Drew MacIntyre? No, Drew got shoved into our faces as 'The Chosen One'. He got instant heel heat. No one outside of hardcore fans knew this guy was a decent UK wrestler. He was just some Scottish dude to every casual fan. You'd have a point if this guy was a babyface, but this isn't the case. Wait...I'm assuming you like this guy. And you want him to get Chosen One Drew McIntyre'd?! That did not go well for him at all. To the point where, despite MASSIVELY improving, he's won about 4 matches in the last 3 years.

Way too soon, homie. I like the dude but got to see what he offers before strapping him to the rocket ship. That's the whole gimmick. He's "The Chosen One". Undeserved title shots equal heel heat. I've always wanted the WWE to give a debuting hot prospect a MiTB case as a signing bonus to designate them as a "chosen one". I want TNA to have another "Feast or Fired" match and backstage before the match Dixie shows ECIII a piece of paper that says which number corresponds with each case and tells him "Now if you can, go after this case. But by no means even touch that case!". At the end there's one case left and Ethan hasn't retrieved any of the others and you see him slowly back out of the ring and walk to the back as the rest of the wrestlers in the ring stand there awkwardly asking themselves why the hell Carter just baile out of the match before resuming the match.
