IMPACT is back tonight from Salt Lake City, and it's the aftermath from Bound For Glory 2013. AJ Styles, without a contract, defeated Bully Ray to claim the TNA World Heavyweight Title for the second time (fifth if you include the NWA Title before that). However, after the PPV, TNA President Dixie Carter instantly signed a rematch for the title between Styles and Ray for tonight's show.
That's all well and good... if for the fact that Styles has stated that if he won the title, he was going to hold out for an improved contract without defending the title. Now that he's the champion, what actual odds are there that he will have the match tonight? He said he was going to make Dixie pay... and given TNA's much-reported financial woes, will Styles' new contract be what cripples the company?
Kurt Angle had quite the awful Sunday in San Diego - first he publicly declined his induction into the TNA Hall of Fame, claiming that he didn't deserve to be in there (leaving the Hall's only member Sting disappointed), and then proved as much by losing to Bobby Roode, injuring himself in the process. What's next for the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist?
Three others champions were crowned on Sunday - former World Champion Chris Sabin once again won the X-Division Title in an Ultimate X Match that somehow included ladders, the Bro Mans became the new Tag Team Champions with the help of Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, and Gail Kim once again won the TNA Knockouts Title with assistance from her new backup, Lei'D Tapa. Will any of these titles be on the line tonight?
Also, Magnus defeated Sting at Bound For Glory, and then didn't exactly show much respect to his Main Event Mafia partner after the match. How will their relationship recover going forward?
