OK, so last night watching Hell in a Cell me and my mate couldn't get over how trim & lean Cena was looking. I mean man, he's a lot smaller. And we got thinking/talking, and we had this idea. An idea that could be ridiculous, and very unlikely but one we couldn't shift. I posted this on a Facebook group I'm in, I'll copy it word-for-word as I have a few points to make after
Look, I know the likelihood of WWE covering up a drug test for someone is miniscule but you have to think if they were going to do it for anyone...it'd be Cena. There's always been rumours/angry fans saying stuff to that extent, and I haven't really believed it because he's proven he is a freak of strength. But he was a LOT smaller. He's been gone roughly 60 days, and for anyone to have a torn triceps muscle and come back to go on the road in 2 months is f***ing mind-boggling/neigh on a miracle.
WWE don't HAVE to announce every drug suspension. They say they do, but it's their policy at the end of the day, and if they didn't want to they aren't breaking any rules; just being incredibly shady. WWE can keep a secret if they need to, and if this was true, it's one secret they would take to the grave. He's lost a lot of muscle mass, everywhere (yet still keeping that ridiculous strength, which I don't doubt is genuine), was gone for roughly 60 days, put on the B show/with the B title for whatever reason that nobody seems to understand and again - TWO MONTHS for a recovery like that is insane.
I like Cena (the guy) and in the ring he's shown he can go. His gimmick I despise but I have no agenda against the guy, and as I say this is probably not true. But it just seems to make sense, in the way that all conspiracy theories do (sort of). I'm not 100% convinced but nearly 24 hours on and I'm still wondering if anyone else thought something was a bit odd?
Ok, call this a conspiracy theory or wild speculation with no real proof but I've had a thought and can't shake it so thought I'd share.
Now I'm looking at Cena and thinking something looks different. He looks smaller. A lot smaller. It looks good, he looks in great shape but the puffy gut has gone, his neck looks smaller and he just looks a lot leaner. Why?
And then, heres where the mild conspiracy theory kicks in. Cena recovered INSANELY quickly from an injury that severe. Almost too quickly. When did Cena leave TV by the way? Oh, just over 60 days ago.
Now bear with me here a minute but imagine if you were running the WWE and your number 1 guy failed a drug test, and while your policy is to announce it theoretically it could happen very quietly in-house without anyone noticing if it was announced as an injury. Then imagine if it happened again. This time it can't happen a third time as he WILL be fired. So when he has a staph infection or nasty fluid build up it gives you the perfect opportunity for him to put someone over on the way out, heal up a bit, you can sell the fans a story of a miraculous recovery that fits into his shtick, and lets the guy get it ALL out of his system, slim down rather inconspicuously and come back knowing he can't f*** up again.
Now if that talent was someone as important as Cena and if he left on the 19th August for 60 days you probably wouldn't put the return on a Raw (even if it was the first opportunity), youd probably help sell a pay-per-view on it. You may even give him the B title so not to annoy your golden child but put him on the B show so he knows whos boss.
Now, I'm just spitballing, theorising, whatever. But Cena does look small...
