He'd be an amazing B-movie actor. Ed Wood would've loved the guy. One take, Vince flubs his lines and falls over, CUT! PRINT!

He'd probably be good enough to have a major role in a comedy film and get good reviews, but on the level of a Streep or Denzel? I doubt it, even Pacino and SLJ know when to stop hamming and be subtle.
The only wrestler I think would be good enough to get award buzz is maybe Mick Foley, and even that's a stretch.

Have you heard his voice over work on Celebrity deathmatch? Surprisingly bad delivery for a guy who went on weekly 20 minute tirades in front of a live audience. This is Celebrity Deathmatch we're talking about. Pretty sure being involved in it alone could sap the talent and wit out of anyone.

Vince's acting would be great in cheesy B-movies, but that's about it.

Forget Vince, Paul Heyman would be a great actor. Bond villain for sure.

Hammy acting is not bad acting. This, so much. He's perfect comedy villain material.

He's not even a good actor in WWE
His heel character is shit. It'd been flanderised so much, it's killed what made him so effective a heel in the first place.
Keep in mind that when he first turned heel, he wasn't the hammy villain he is now. He was rather reasonable for the most part when he explained why he screwed Bret, tried to make Stone Cold into a corporate friendly champion, succeeded in doing so with the Rock and rationalised to Mankind why he couldn't be.

He was rather reasonable for the most part when he explained why he screwed Bret, tried to make Stone Cold into a corporate friendly champion, succeeded in doing so with the Rock and rationalised to Mankind why he couldn't be. Certain parts of Vince's characteristics have been exaggerated over time, this is true. However, I disagree with your main point. Yes, he was a touch more restrained and logical in the beginning--but he was still extremely over-the-top and hammy. Everything from yelling "YOU'VE RUINED IT!" at Austin when he was scuffling with Tyson to the ~GLORIOUS dancing with Dude Love and the Dudettes at the end of the Funk Vs. Foley Raw. Heck, I'd throw in the skits with Mick as his "son" and the training montages with Shane before the Royal Rumble... The bulging eyes when he thought he was going to be murdered by Stone Cold (Thank you, Attitude Era!) The time he was attacked by Dr. Austin following his crippling at the hands of Kane and Taker (Also a hammy moment). "It was ME AUSTIN, it was me all along!" happened pretty early on in the character's life too. In fact, thinking as I'm writing, I'd almost argue that he was more hammy overall in the early days. His feud with Austin allowed him to essentially be an awesome Comic Book Villain. If he's less effective as a heel at all now, it's simply because he's reached the Ric Flair/Undertaker level of respect with fans that people don't honestly hate him even when he's heel.

Paul Heyman is miles better than Vince at acting. That "LAVA" promo before HiaC was genius.

If he had started acting much earlier, I think he would have done all right.
If he tried acting today, he'd be like Christopher Walken: No matter what roll you put him in, he'd still just be Vince McMahon.
