Over the years it's gotten excessive. The niece of the Hart's. Cousin-in-law of the Hart's. Daughter of the brother in law of the Hart's. Trained with the Hart's. Knew the Hart's dog intimately, etc.
I'm bored of seemingly so many mentions or links to the Hart family. I used to enjoy it when we didn't know anything of a wrestler's background other than what was necessary for the character. Back in the day there was probably half the roster that had some kind of link to the Hart's either social or professional but thankfully then you didn't have it constantly referred to like it was some kind of badge of honour constantly in need of mentioning. Even the use of Bret's music just seems like they're constantly wishing to milk the cow in that respect.
But I don't get it. Other than Bret and Owen none of the other Hart brothers became that big of a deal in the industry on a national level and with the greatest of respect to Hitman he was hardly the most popular main eventer of all time. I don't get why constant mentions of "Hart this" and "Hart that" citing that someone used to be dating one of the Hart's or related to or trained by or had lunch with occasionally - is seen as some kind of enhancement for talent.
Do they think we think "Trained by Stu Hart and once tried to get to third base with his daughter? I'm totally hooked on this character, storyline and/or event" ?
Just give it a rest

What about the daughter of Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka?

I get annoyed when I hear it too. Not every time, I don't get annoyed every time.
Say for argument's sake I hear... I dunno 10 references? 10's an even number. I wouldn't get annoyed 10 times.
I'd say on average I get angry half the time, maybe not quite half the time. Slightly less, so umm... say 4/10.
That was totally worth it.

I don't know if anyone is aware of this, I personally only just found out and it shocked me. Get this...Tamina Snuka...is the daughter....of legendary WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka!
I can't believe nobody has mentioned it. Why would commentary go this long without announcing that factoid?
p.s. I agree OP, constant badgering about a wrestler's heritage sucks and in most cases just makes the wrestler look worse in comparison. It's counter productive when you compare Curtis Axel to Mr. Perfect, because Curtis is worse in every conceivable field.

What about the daughter of Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka? If anything it makes a change. I'm surprised the line isn't "The daughter of Jimmy Snuka, who of course met with and competed against various members of the Hart family during his career"

It is annoying though. Why is it that Stu Hart spends all this time in the basement with his kids and he's a hero but when my Step Dad kept my sister down there for 3 days they killed him?

I love how they never reference Mark Henry was trained by the Harts. Probably the only Hart-trained wrestler WWE ignores is Hart-trained.

I think that both time and WWE have skewed "the Harts" to mean "the 1997 version of the Hart Foundation."

Hilariously enough, there are people who still think Natty is Brett's daughter.

They should mention EVERY wrestler on the Roster in relation with the Harts somehow.
"Heres R Truth who once brought Bret a packet of crisps from the vending machine backstage because he didn't have enough coins" "Jinder Mahal from 3MB who i'ver been informed drove past The Hart Family home once"
Stuff like that.

I think WWE actually missed the boat in really pushing Natalya as a breakthrough from the male dominated Hart family wrestling tree.

It bugs me when they claim that The Rock is related to all of the Samoans.
High Chief Maivia had no real blood relation to the Anoa'i family.
