Is Dixie's character that she's a parody of herself? I'm just reminded of "big announcements" that always end up being underwhelming and stupid, and this was obviously intentionally meant to be that.

She's pretty much a poor man's version of Big Johnny filtered through Stephanie McMahon and her bad acting.

Since Roger Goodell doesn't allow his property to get physically involved outside of the football field, Pacman will stand in the ring, cut an awkward yet terrible promo, somehow is a friend of James Storm, and toss a football at one of the Bro Mans.

Allowing him and Storm to become new Tag Team Champions?

TNA was a lot better before Hogan showed up, but it wasn't flawless and dumb shit like Bringing in Pacman Jones and other "celebrities" was a terrible bonehead move that Dixie was always making. This company will never be as good as it once was or has the potential to be as long as knuckleheads like the carters are around. Everyone talks shit on Russo, but in the early years of that company it was a lot better. When he was making AJ styles THE guy. The only time TNA was better off than when they had Russo was the Scott Damore era which was the best American wrestling of it's time.

People defending this with "she's a delusional heel!"
Soon it will be "It's TNA's character to suck!"

People defending this with "she's a delusional heel!" Soon it will be "It's TNA's character to suck!" That's not exactly true. Watching the video with the reveal it definitely comes across as Dixie being delusional, with JB and the other guy looking completely dumbfounded by the announcement. TNA doesn't "suck" but when they do something that is idiotic it's certainly not as deliberate and self aware as that reveal. I don't see why it's wrong for TNA to kill two birds with one stone, advancing the character of one of their kayfabe top heels at the moment and also giving the people of Cincinnati a cool moment with some of their sports stars. It was a nice touch and at least PacMan is relevant to the TNA product, unlike the hundreds of other celebrities that show up on wrestling shows and eat up TV time for no reason.

I am really glad I don't have to be the one to be the first to say this but I completely agree. It looks like Dixie's character thinks that this'll help the company when everyone and their mother on the inside doesn't agree. Even TAZ disagrees with it and he's been riding Dixie's coattails for weeks. TNA has done some dumb things in the past while, this isn't one of them. If he's in the company beyond Turning Point, I'll be shocked.

At least on Impact, they didn't act as if he was a former returning champion, in fact, I don't know if they even mentioned his stint in TNA. They just portrayed it as a couple of NFL players at Impact, who "took out" the heels who baited them. Even though it had them going over The Bad Influence, it actually wasn't bad. Just something you would have seen about 5 years ago.

I'm just saying, for a company that's "cutting costs", I have to wonder how much they paid Pacman to do this shit. I would hope for their sake he had a low price tag.

I don't want to come across as if I'm constantly defending TNA or giving them too much credit as I am well aware that they have more than their fair share of flaws and have been involved in some idiotic decisions in the past however I'm not sure they would have had to pay Pacman for his appearance on the show. Comp some tickets, give him some face time with Dixie and his segment with Bad Influence and I'm sure he would have been more than happy to show up, as far as I'm aware he's a big fan so why wouldn't he want to drop by of his own accord?
