So I wanted to watch the match between The Undertaker and Triple H for nostalgia purposes and I had completely forgotten about Motorhead's performance there. What in the hell was that? The lyrics were all wrong and clearly they weren't trying that hard to even make it sound good.
They would have been better off saving the money and just playing the normal theme, it kind of ruins the epicness of the moment with Lemmy mentioning "I am the game" matter of factly every fifteen seconds.

I didn't mind it too much. I figured they were just playing a variant version of the theme.

WrestleMania 21 DVD bonus features included that incredible acoustic performance of the theme in a locker room, loved that, that was a thing of beauty.

With the mentions of Steak and Dessert I think they forgot to feed Lemmy before they sent him out there.

Didn't they only perform because Limp Bizkit pulled out as someone had died at one of their concerts in Australia a few days before?

Didn't they only perform because Limp Bizkit pulled out as someone had died at one of their concerts in Australia a few days before? I believe the idea was that Motorhead would play Triple H to the Ring and Limp Bizkit would play Undertaker to the ring.

If this board was around, I bet someone would complain how out of touch WWF was by having Motorhead perform instead of Kid Rock, Nelly, Limp Bizkit or someone relevant.

I do love those two performances. Lemmy apparently thinks "The Game" is an awful song, and the only times they've performed it is during the recording of the track itself, and at those two Manias, which would explain why he doesn't remember the lyrics.
It's funny, as after "Ace of Spades" and maybe "Bomber", "The Game" is arguably their most well-known track these days.

I once read Lemmy say he drinks about a pint of whiskey a day. That could do it.

"It's all about The Game, and how you bake it!" I always thought it was "It's all about The Game, and I like bacon."

Weren't "the game" lyrics written by HHH? All writing credits I've ever seen are To Jim Johnston. I imagine if HHH had written them, he'd have let us all know many times!

Limp Bizkit were one of the biggest bands in the world in 2001, and 'My Way' soundtracked the greatest video package in wrestling history.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rWPTjuesMYSeems appropriate to post this in here, unused version of My Time, basically Jim Johnson just got Motorhead to record a cover of this and that's how "The Game" was born

Limp Bizkit at WM 19 was already starting to be outdated.
