I just wanna add to this whole "discussion" that Gail Kim kills it every time she's in the ring and has the best match on Impact at least once a month.

Alpha Female would be an awesome challenger and could literally handle Lady Tapout if she wanted interfere as well

Imo this was true a couple of months ago but ever since the Division shrunk to having 5 or so girls Gail has been putting on some mediocre matches. I liked it better when she was busting out all sorts of submissions ( Cattle Mutilation, Cloverleaf, Stretch Muffler, etc). Hopefully this storyline brings in some female talent who are actually on Gail's level.

Look I can agree with SOR. SHIMMER would be a national organization if talent sells, but obviously it's not what draws. Frankly I'm not interested in seeing anything less then an 8 on television. Skills can be taught. Trish Stratus, she started off horrible, but still manage to get over solely on her looks.

Look I can agree with SOR. SHIMMER would be a national organization if talent sells, but obviously it's not what draws. There are so many irrational jumps of logic with this argument, it's astounding. It's as if to suggest that the only reason Shimmer isn't a "National organization" (super vague term) is because its women aren't more attractive, as if that's the be-all end-all of any business. Forget how unpopular wrestling is right now, forget the financial and organizational strain on running a wrestling company, forget how there's a grand total of THREE (3) wrestling promotions with national TV deals which at the very least are at least four years older than Shimmer, forget how Shimmer's entire business operation is CENTERED AROUND DVD/DIGITAL SALES AND LIVE GATES WITHOUT A TELEVISION EXPANSION REMOTELY FACTORING INTO ITS EXISTENCE, no, let's say the only reason Shimmer isn't the WWE of women right now is because the girls aren't models. That's ridiculous. The fact that Shimmer has been in existence since 2005 and continues to do what they do is proof that there is a market for their brand of wrestling and that they can draw.

I think it's a middle ground. I don't really care about if my female wrestlers are 8+ supermodels or killer juggernauts like Kong and Alpha Female as long as they're something other than a plain Jane. I haven't been impressed with a lot of the women circling the business lately because they don't have anything differentiating one from another.
Going in the ring and being talented is all well and good but unless it's accompanied by another trait that can get the girls over then I don't think it's worth TNA bringing in "wrestlers".

And anyway, in TNA the women are only a piece of the puzzle. They're not going to be relied on to draw gates and sell PPVs. They just need to provide quality work in the middle of the card, and bring something different to the table than the X-Division or the Mr. Pectaculars of the world. Also, if SHIMMER was full of nothing but "10/10 model" types that didn't know how to wrestle, they wouldn't even be in business.

So does anyone have a top 5 list of workers they are hoping to see?
Off the top of my head some fairly realistic choices Id' go with are:
1. Manami Toyota (okay, this one has no chance of happening, but still I'd mark) 2. Awesome Kong 3. Portia Perez 4. Christina Von Eerie 5. Kellie Skater
I think some more well known names like Kelly Kelly or Melina could be great for TNA, but I have doubts about the company being able to keep them and get much out of them so I didn't include these. The five I listed would at a minimum be fun for one-off appearances.

I just think TNA could actually benefit from Kelly Kelly's name value. As I posted in another thread months back one problem TNA runs into by trying to get more fans with big hires is that all the people they hire pretty much have the same fans or are fans taken from the same demographic. Kelly Kelly on the other hand appeals to another demographic and believe it or not still has a good chunk of fans.

Alissa Flash 2. Nikki Storm 3. Christina Von Eerie 4. Mia Yim 5. Alpha Female If they want to bring in a "diva" then I'd take Beth Phoenix over K2 or Melina.

Skills can be taught. Trish Stratus, she started off horrible, but still manage to get over solely on her looks. That's not exclusively a female problem. If it were, Dragon Gate'd be able to get on television and ROH would be able to stay on television (they were only on HDNet for a cup of coffee; dunno where they're being nationally aired nowadays, if at all). As far as the other points, 1. Screw this notion that looks and talent are mutually exclusive; Mia Yim and LuFisto are hot as all hell, but they actually know what a wristlock is and how to do it. It isn't rocket science. 2. You're completely right that Trish managed to get over solely on her looks, which is part of why she's considered "the best ever" despite being extremely average in the ring her entire time as a wrestler. If that's the rubric you want on what a good female wrestler is - extremely average but able to elicit hard-ons - that's on you, but personally, I want more than that.

Lu Fisto

I like my choices better than Yim for in-in work, but Yim has a unqiue look that I think could go far in TNA or really even WWE.

Not counting people they've had before (on the official roster, not in OVW):
1. LuFisto 2. MsChif 3. Alpha Female 4. Athena 5. Mia Yim
If they're jonesing for an ex-Diva, Melina or Beth Phoenix. Possibly Serena, if she's healthy enough for it.

Ray. She's a free agent not signed to any major Japanese fed-and she's got major skillz.
In fact, I'll I'll go one further: is bring in Ray and a prominent luchadora like Sexy Star and team them up-and I'd also bring back Alissa Flash as Raisha Said as their manager/tag partner, and id make it a story where Raisha brought in these two international stars to beat all the other knockouts. An international, masked female trio would definitely be something unique and different.
