Jacques Rougeau pinned Hulk Hogan cleanly in 1997 Okay, yeah, I think we're getting far, far away from the concept of what "mediocre career" means. Multiple title holder, one of the biggest draws not named "Hart" in his home country, had a sell-out crowd of 16k+ to see his retirement match and was a champion pretty much everywhere he went pre-WWF. And then there's that whole "pissed off an entire national law agency" thing, not to mention his near-legendary dirty-but-deserved beatdown of Dynamite Kid. I mean I see this as more of a case in which the footnote is a much larger accomplishment than anything else he did in his career, no matter how big or small it may have been.

The Executioners who were a champion tag team that included the likes of Killer Kowalkski, Nikolai Volkoff, and Big John Studd also were represented by Duane Gill (Gillberg)

And then there's that whole "pissed off an entire national law agency" thing, not to mention his near-legendary dirty-but-deserved beatdown of Dynamite Kid. Also, has been running his own promotion for the last 20 years, outdrawing every promotion except WWE's, CMLL's and New Japan's biggest crowds. Yes, on average, his lousy promotion draws bigger crowds than TNA, ROH and All Japan. And he's running more and more, and keeping himself in that 3500-5000 fans per show attendance average. Since his talent costs NOTHING (roster is 100% homegrown and works for peanuts) he makes money hand over fist. He trains decent wrestlers. Steen. LuFisto, partly. THREE QUARTERS OF THE MAIN EVENTERS OF THE OTHER MONTREAL INDIES OTHER THAN HIS OWN! He's got a son that's as big as Lesnar he's growing into something like a main event talent for TV, another one who's a great all-rounder and his youngest is awesome (for a guy barely in his teens). Sure, he won the Intercontinental title because Hart was going through contract negociations and they wanted the title off him, and his reign lasted 48 hours. Sure, he was a part of memorable tag teams in which he generally let his brother Raymond and Carl Ouellet do most of the work and kept his best work for major TV, PPVs and Montreal shows. And sure, he suffers from chronic wrestling retirement syndrome AKA Funkititis. But his career wasn't mediocre. In a business full of people that haven't a clue, Jacques Rougeau KNOWS how things work.

Jerry Flynn being Goldberg's below-midcard feud.
ECW Zombie providing tons of indy promoters with a barrel-scraping "star" to main event.
Kevin Matthews thinking he got Hugh Morrus fired.
