We get to the main event and Justin Aroberts announces a WWE title match. After Orton comes out the crowd starts chanting 'We want Daniel' and were greeted with...Big Shows music.
The match takes a while to get started because of Orton ducking out of the ring, at which point there are more DB chants, Orton seemingly gets pissed and cuts an impromptu promo and says Daniel is probably in the hospital after what he did to him and we should all just shut up.
Match happens, Kane comes out for the distraction and Orton win, Shield comes out for a best down, more DB chants, Big Show eventually overpowers them by himself.
After it all died down Big Show cut a promo thanking the people who cheered for him, and said he was sure the next time we came he was sure DB would be there to kick some ass, I really felt bad for him here, it's clear the people didn't want to see him in that match.
Thought that was interesting considering WWE's supposed current stance of giving Show Db's push.

Did Bryan wrestle earlier in the show? If so, that's really bizarre that they wouldn't just send him down there to make the crowd happy.

Well fans always do this. Good on Show for handling it in a classy way.

Honestly I was kinda hoping this chant would kick off, especially on live shows.

I mean if it was Bryan facing Orton on the house shows, Orton would be pinning him every night so at least the people didn't have to see that

Yeah, Bryan was here in Munich today, teaming with Punk against the Wyatts.

I wouldn't say awkward. Just more of an anti-climax. When The Shield ran down everyone just assumed someone would run down to help The Big Show, but it never happened. I'm sure they could have sent a couple of faces out there that competed earlier in the show, before Big Show makes the comeback.

I think that the biggest problem was that Bryan was advertised for the Birmingham event on WWE.com and that hadn't been changed meaning that fans who had checked the site for updates were expecting to see him. If they had updated the information for the event so that Bryan was not listed, they might have avoided the situation. Though it certainly didn't help that Big Show and Orton had a total clunker of a main event with a really weak finish.

Triple H: Do you hear them? They're chanting "WE LOVE RANDALL!" Vince: "...I knew it! I'm on top of pop culture. They want a gimmick based on the main character of this new fantasy series right? WHEEL OF TIME! Alberto, you are the Dark One. Spin the wheel."

I'm sure they will treat this just like the "We Want Ryder" chants

The UK doesn't get many shows so there were likely a lot of people who bought a ticket thinking "I GET TO SEE DANIEL f***ING BRYAN!"

Apparently WWE has been taking alot of guys off shows they were advertised for (or even advertising people who they knew well ahead of time wouldn't be on the shows).
Dave Meltzer's been talking about it on his Observer podcasts recently.
That was also the case at a RAW taping a couple of weeks ago. All of the advertising pushed that Vince McMahon would return, and it didn't happen.

And while I doubt it's vastly effecting their bottom line, I imagine at least a few people who bought tickets for these shows where they didn't get what was advertised won't be buying another anytime soon.
