Final notice sent to the last contestants. One contacted me yesterday about sending in a song. The other two have been missing for a bit now. If they can send me song by tonight, ok but, if not, they're in the Sing-off. Just the way it has to be: have to move on.

If they don't give a crap about sending in one song within one week's time--ONE SONG!!!--then I doubt they give a crap about being cut or in a sing-off. I agree with the decision to move on.

I don't want to make it a big issue but it's true: one song from a contestant vs. judging fifteen songs. The judges have a far harder and much more time consuming role. We've done it in the past and I'll be harder on it from now on: Contestants have three days to send in a song, 4 days for a team Round (as it requires communication). After that point, unless you contact me with a reason why, you get a zero. One contestant said that they'd send me their song today; the other two haven't responded to my pm's. The contestants have until midnight tonight. They've been pm'd; if they don't send in a song, then they are in the Sing-off next Round. The judging for this Round will still happen and the winner will get a bonus for the next Round. It baffles me why the weekends slow things down for us  . I figured it would be the other way around. |

For clarification: The people who don't get their song in are going to a singoff, right? If so, will the worst scorer this round join them? Or is it just them and the worst scorer will just be at a disadvantage (points wise) for the next round?

Here's the thing: If the contestants don't send me a song tonight, what's to say that they won't take another three days for the Sing-Off? No one wants that. Losing three players just like that won't do either. So, those players get their songs in to me tonight or I replace them with eliminated contestants if they want to continue playing. If not, we'll have to make due. As for the Sing-Off, we could do a bonus Round instead and have the top two scorers for these two Rounds face-off for a bonus for the next Round. The worst scorer can just write-it off. |

It wasn't the way I wanted to get eliminated, especially in how I was being steller throughout. But the fact of the matter is, most of those really long delays in gameplay were my doing for not getting my song in. I got PM's about it every time, I ignored them. So I figured something like this would happen.
It sucks, but it is what it is.

Someone either has to quit due to outside commitments or there are computer issues, etc. Hell, Stryker as Host quit the other forum mid way through. So, it is what it is. We had to move on, we did so, and I'm giving someone another shot at playing. There are reasons why Jazzman came back: I don't think the Triple Threat elimination was the best idea I've ever had, for one. There was also an issue with three people getting there songs in: I was afraid that, to keep my word, I would have to eliminate three competitors due to inaction. Jazzman (and Waffel, who I was considering as well but he prefers to continue judging) wanted back, he can come back, and he starts again like any other player next Round. To compensate, I'm not eliminating anyone for the Sing-Off but I will do a bonus Round and it will impact the coming Rounds. So, I think that's for the best moving forward. Nothing personal Lodi, I just hope that, next time, you can answer the pm's on time. Other than that, these things happen, it has nothing to do with you as a player or poster, and I hope you can play in the next game. |
