Remember when John Morrison was the most over he's ever been coming off a year of phenomenal matches with Rey/Jericho/Edge/Punk/Jeff Hardy, and they had McIntyre beat him clean a gazillion times to try to get heat?

They were impressed when they found out how much time he spends at the gym and were going to give him a push.......then they found out what he actually does when he's there

Don't remind me. That's right around the time that Smackdown's quality went way down.

To me it's more bizarre to think of where he is now than where he used to be. I can see what they liked about the guy, but it seems he wasn't ready maturity wise for the big push.
Also I remember a time period here in early 2010 where the McIntyre hate here was so bad it necessitated an official Drew McIntyre bitching thread.

I remember the Dashing Ones. it was like the greatest 25 minutes or so in the history of this sport. That really was the strangest thing ever. They finally decide to give their team a name, then go out to have a match and lose, and a few minutes later they're breaking up for practically no reason.

I remember reading that part of the reason he was depushed is that Tiffany hit him, and that made people think of him as not tough and manly, or something. Skeezy as hell, if true.

I still think he had one of the best entrance themes in a while and I loved the Dashing Ones and after all they are former Tag Champs

What people have to realise is that even though his entrance theme kicked ass and he had a good look, his matches for the most part were snooze-fests when he was IC Champion. His move-set consisted of 90% kicks and punches and outside of the 'Chosen One' theme he basically had no gimmick outside of 'peeved off Scotsman' which, considering the state of the country, could be played by most of its current residents.

Exactly, WWE gave him no gimmick, no background, no character and then made him do matches with nothing but plodding slow kick kick punch upper cut. And then acted surprised when he failed to get over. And yeah, Tiffany smacking him one didn't help in the most archaic and stupid backstage 'boys' mentality ever. What was he meant to do, slap her back?
