And Big Time Timmy Jim throws his 2nd career no-hitter. Good for him.

No-hitter #3 this year goes to Tim Lincecum, who no-hits the Padres for the second time in less than a year.

Where is Clayton Kershaw career-wise right now? Obviously with his no-hitter last week and 8 shutout innings this week Kershaw is back in the news. He's also upped his K's/9 by over 3 a game and cut his walks almost in half from last season. He's got 2 Cy Youngs, lead the league in ERA and WHIP three seasons in a row, and has the lowest ERA of any pitcher since 1920 with 1000 IP.

We in Toronto really need better relief pitchers. You know, relievers that can actually last at least even an inning.

Pitchers are probably Toronto's biggest weakness. I'm just glad the Yankees were able to salvage some kind of self-respect and win a game.

So last night Manny Ramirez finally got in to a game with the Iowa Cubs where he is a player-coach. He went 0-4 and reached on an error.

Maybe it's just because they're the only games I watch...but man, the Pirates have some absurd nonsense happen during their games.

Either Vidal Nuno finally had a good game or the Red Sox's offense is even worse than the Yankees' typically is.

Altuve with 4 more hits tonight. He now has 111 and is hitting an impressive .342. He also stole 2 more bags tonight, giving him 32 on the season. All of those numbers lead the American League.
He's basically have an Ichiro-in-his-prime first half of the season.

I'm beginning a push to have Paul Konerko get a crack at closing out games ahead of anybody in that retched bullpen. It's not like he can do worse.
(At the very least, use Adam Dunn or Leury Garcia. They both have pitching experience.)

Either Vidal Nuno finally had a good game or the Red Sox's offense is even worse than the Yankees' typically is. It's the latter. On any given night, the Red Sox could have as many as six players in the starting nine who have no right being full-time players in the majors. Stephen Drew (.135 BA), David Ross (.174), Jonathan Herrera (.224), Daniel Nava (.223), Jonny Gomes (.235), and Jackie Bradley (.209) should all be bench players at best, yet the Red Sox call upon them more often than not, to try to shoulder the burden if the 1-5 hitters can't get the job done. If the 1-5 hitters in the lineup are struggling, you can be all but assured that the Red Sox will be shut out that night.
