It's amazing how much the overall quality of the matches in WWE has gotten. Especially this year. We've had Cena vs. Punk, Undertaker vs. Punk, Bryan vs. Cesaro, any match with Bryan vs. The Shield. But there are numerous others I know people really enjoyed. I say we try to list them all out now so we can have a fair pick for when we do our own Slammy Awards this year.

WWE is having a good go at trying to capture the WCW formula - main events may not always have great wrestling, but they have big names, while the mid-card feuds (well, usually feud singular) have incredible wrestling.
Of course, they also frequently have amazing wrestling in the main events these days, and the low card is nonexistent, but hey - it's a start. It's great that they're finally realising that wrestling fans want to see wrestling once in a while.

It's great that they're finally realising that wrestling fans want to see wrestling once in a while. That isn't just the WCW formula, that's basic pro wrestling. Have the larger-than-life guys with boatloads of charisma and a goodgrasp of psychology work the main event, and have the high-workrate guys work the midcard. Look at Steve Austin. He started to work a less technical, more brawling style and it made him the biggest star in the industry.

I nominate Usos/Shield from the pre-show before some PPV over the summer(I can't recall which one) that match was off the charts.

Cena/Punk is still my MOTY from any company. My Top Ten (purely from WWE):
1) CM Punk vs. John Cena – RAW (25th February) 2) Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk, No Disqualification – Summerslam 3) CM Punk vs. The Undertaker – WrestleMania XIX 7) John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan, WWE Championship - Summerslam 12) The Rhodes Family (Cody Rhodes and Goldust) vs. The Shield (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins) – Battleground 16) Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler, World Heavyweight Championship – Money in the Bank 17) Antonio Cesaro vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Fandango vs. Jack Swagger vs. Wade Barrett, World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Contract, Ladder Match – Money in the Bank 18) The Rhodes Family (Cody Rhodes and Goldust) vs. The Shield (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins) vs. The Uso’s (Jey and Jimmy), WWE Tag Team Championships – Hell In A Cell 19) Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton, WWE Championship, Hell in a Cell (Special Guest Referee: Shawn Michaels) – Hell In A Cell 21) Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena – RAW (7th January)

I don't know where to begin but Bryan vs Cesaro (gauntlet), Bryan vs Rollins, Cesaro vs Ziggler (Main Event or Superstars), Cesaro vs Kofi (Main Event) and Cesaro vs Zayn 2/3, Ambrose vs Taker, Taker/Kane/Bryan vs Shield, Kofi/Bryan/Kane vs Shield, RVD vs Christian vs Orton, Orton vs RVD, Orton/Bryan/Kane vs Shield (SD: Shields first 6 man tag defeat/"weakest link" and start of rise of Bryan) need to be put on the list somehow (added to the one's already mentioned and will be mentioned in this thread)
It will be a top 100 list by the end of it.....
We still have a f***ing month left as well! Holy shit
I seriously need to watch Punk/Cena again, I saw it live and then have watched it again an odd time or two after, shall hopefully get around to it tomorrow

The Shield vs. The Yes Brigade may be the best lopsided handicap match in history.
Seriously, they made an 11 on 3 match amazing.

One of the best in-ring years ever? Personally, I'm more into the top guys of today than I was the Smackdown six. And today these guys have to face a more cynical and jaded fanbase who has seen it all.

Bumping the thread for the 12 man tag from RAW the other week (Bryan/Punk/Rhodes Brothers/Usos v Shield/Wyatt Family) and Neville v Zayn in NXT.
Guys, this is getting absolutely f***ing ridiculous. I don't think I've ever seen so many great matches in the space of one year. It's a damn shame that most of them will be forgotten because the story side of the company isn't holding up its end of the bargain.

Also great: Bryan/Orton Street Fight on Raw. That match was even better than their later matches (probably because Orton wrestles better as a face).
