Just before the series started... And after the 27 year old medium pace bowler took 5 Australian wickets for 65 runs, the Courier Mail followed up with this... Watch for the remainder of the Australian summer/English winter as Hardcore Holly continues to tear Aussies apart~!

I don't know what the majority of Australian people think about these headlines but honestly it comes off as really sad and pathetic to me. It's not really ignoring Broad is it if he's front and centre of your headlines. Everybody knows who you are referring to even if his name isn't mentioned.
And I bet if anything it has fired up Broad even more. I bet he's loving the attention. I know what he did was wrong in the last Ashes series but there's no point dwelling on it. The Australian media needs to focus on getting behind their team rather than focussing on Broad.

For what it's worth, it's only one Brisbane newspaper doing it. The paper in my area (Sydney) published by the same people aren't doing that.
Also, we can finally shut up about that first English WWE Champion too now... If Vacant is English, that means it happened at least 25 years ago.

Hopefully Australia will get stuffed, on home soil too, making it all the more sweeter.

Wasn't there an Ashes series just this summer? They had to change the schedule, as the series in Australia was always right before the World Cup. Australia return to England in 2015, and the return to Australia is in 2016/2017, then it's the normal intervals from then on.

Ah ok. Seems a bit overkill, why not just have the series in Australia once this year, and then resume in England in 2015 and so on

Ah ok. Seems a bit overkill, why not just have the series in Australia once this year, and then resume in England in 2015 and so on Then that would be two series in Australia in a row - a bit unfair. England had already scheduled opponents from 2010-2012.

We owned day two. Johnson & Lyon were brilliant. Clarke's captaincy in the field was outstanding & now Cook has to set the attacking tone which is not his strong suit. A lead of over 220 with all 10 wickets in hand is a great sign. The turning point for the day was the last over before lunch. Clarke made sure all 11 men sprinted into position so they could bowl that final over & they got Trott in that over & then the collapse was on after lunch. On a lighter note here is a great song about England's selection policy. soundcloud.com/abc_grandstand/thats-in-englandEdit: To put the song in perspective for those not aware of the 35 players who have played for England in the last 12 months 13 of them are not actually English. 8 of them are South African, 2 are Irish, 1 is Zimbabwean, 1 is a New Zealander & 1 is from Barbados. Also the previous 2 captains of England are South African.

Have no idea what happened to our batting lineup today. Undid all the great work Broad did. That Aussie 7th wicket partnership is so far proving crucial.

Jonathan Trott has to be under pressure, he has failed a lot this year and contributed very few runs in the last ashes series in England

Been Australia's day again today. Warner & Clarke batted brilliantly, helped by some curious field settings & also poor execution from the English bowlers. Only one team can win this match now. The question is can Australia take the 10 wickets required to win?

Yeah this one's looking a write-off now. Batting needs to be worked on intensely ahead of the second test.
