Von Miller done for the season with an ACL tear. I think Denver is the best of the AFC, not that that's saying much, but I just have trouble seeing them reach the Superbowl.

However, we've done okay without him in there, too, so I'm not ready to abandon all hope yet. Somebody's got to step up, but we'll be alright.

I can still see Denver reaching the Super Bowl even with a poor defense. I don't think they're much worse without Von Miller since he didn't really make a big difference for them outside of like one game.
Now winning it is another story. Seahawks are tough even without their home field. Mortal, and I don't think the Super Bowl officiating is going to let them get away with all the uncalled defensive penalties that they usually get away with, but still tough. Panthers are a tough team, too. The Eagles turns into a shootout since neither team is very good defensively. Packers isn't a contest unless they have a healthy Rodgers. 49ers are going to be playing with a chip on their shoulder from last year's Super Bowl, so I think that's the next toughest matchup after Seattle and Carolina. The Saints are a mediocre team outside of the Superdome so I don't even think they make it that far unless they win the NFC South and get a first round bye.

I agree with ya on Denver but I don't see the Von injury as that devastating. We played the majority of the year without him and while he's helped, it's not like our defense has been good at any point.

I'm not just saying because of Von Miller, although that hurts. I just mean in general. I can't even place my finger on why. Someone has to come out of the conference. I've just lost faith in them.

There isn't really a complete team in the AFC this year. KC's offense can only light it up on garbage teams like Oakland. Andy Dalton is way too inconsistent. Colts as a team are too inexperienced and still coming into their own. Pats are too banged up on both sides of the ball and didn't have a good defense to begin with. And the Dolphins aren't really any good.

I know he stunk it up in Pittsburgh last week but Dalton has become the least of my worries, believe it or not. He can finally throw an accurate deep ball. If he was as polished at passing last year as he is now, the Bengals easily beat the Texans in the Wildcard game. It's the injuries that I can't get past. Best corner, out. Best overall player in Geno Atkins, out. Starting safety, out. Now our leading tackler has a concussion and our o-line keeps losing guys in games to ankle problems and general problems. If they were healthy I might pick Cincy, as absurd as that sounds.

Current SportsNation poll - who wins the game to decide the NFC North? 46% - Packers if Rodgers starts 29% - Packers if Flynn starts 25% - Bears in both scenarios The Bears had better hope that Rodgers doesn't make it. Even if Rodgers doesn't play, I still think the Packers win. Hell even if Lacy's out, I think the Packers win. With the Bears defense, the Packers practice squad runningback could tear them up. Even if the Packers win, they aren't going past round one in the playoffs. I'd personally leave Rodgers on the bench. He's not Cutler, he's not playing for a contract. You already signed him for 6 years, keep him healthy so he can play out the contract.

AFC is a crapshoot.
Denver can score a lot but has no defense and if Peyton has a bad day they'll probably lose. NE is wildly erratic and if Brady has a bad day they'll probably lose Indy looks awesome sometimes and terrible at other times. The Pouncy Cats look really good some weeks and average others KC still has a ways to go before they're a legit threat Miami or whoever the 6 seed is will likely just be happy to be in the playoffs.
I don't have much faith in whoever comes out of the AFC to get it done.

Before the season started I picked the Niners beating Cincinnati in the Superbowl for a 3rd time, I'm still standing behind that prediction.

Honestly, I can see anybody in the AFC in New York come February. My gut tells me it comes down to New England and Denver with that game being a complete crapshoot.

I say Indy vs. Denver in the AFC championship game.
The NFC, strangely, is far more intersting to me, even though I rarely care about it. The Seahawks are obviously the favorite, they didn't lose at home until they had home field advantage almost locked up. But the Panther have so much momentum coming in that I'm almost tempted to pick them now to go to the Superbowl.

The Buffalo Bills can alter the AFC playoff picture IF we make a deal with the Devil and beat New England.
Patriots could drop to Wild Card weekend with a loss and a CIN/IND win.
