Why Make the troops suffer through an Eva Marie appearance? Why not have Naomi, Cameron, or Kaitlyn go?? Why pick the useless tranny looking Redhead? Silly goose, Lita isn't going!

I am so sickened by this "they patronizing!" crap. They're giving American soldiers a show once a year and broadcasting it. So what if it is "look at us"? They're charity work for the military and kids should not be mocked. I couldn't care less about whether it's patronising or not. Let's face it, most episodes of Raw are patronising one way or another, but speaking as a non-American I really have no interest in a celebration of another country's military. My only gripe was episodes of Raw being sacrificed to the cause, but as that's no longer the case I don't have any issue with it.

I remember really enjoying the one a couple of years back, main event was a six man tag with Show, Cena and Punk teaming up. Just really really good fun, like all the years are and all for a good cause. A win win. Plus fine I admit it I mark for the video packages of celebrities thanking the troops, and them mentioning the WWE (whether they were forced at gun point by Vince or not). Robin Williams message on the same TTTT mentioned above was glorious. The show also manages to always get me in the Christmas spirit, and I need a bit of that this year to get me hyped

So I am going to be avoiding this on December 28 instead of December 24th or 25th now? Okay.

Can't we just air two hours of Vince jerking it into the flag instead? It'd be far more honest than this attempt at self-fellatio year after year.

When I watched wrestling regularly, this was the only WWE show I did not bother watching.
The faces always win, they praise soldiers and tell us how amazing they are and it gets boring seeing sports entertainers hype their experience there.
I can see how proud Americans can love this, but this show always bored me to tears.
My understanding is that they do not even do the shows outdoors anymore, in favor of their tacky arena. How lame!

Stephanie should go to the ring and thank the soldiers for risking their lives fighting in wars, and that's something she can relate to, because one time her family was involved in war too, against Ted Turner and....

They're charity work for the military and kids should not be mocked. You seem *sickened* by any dissenting opinions lately that go against your own personal world view. This not the first thread wherein you've gotten irrationally upset at people for not sharing them. Here's some insight: They never will. Ever. And people will continue to say what they want and believe what they believe and you'll have to learn to live with that. Rather than going on the offensive and whining, you'd be better served to put over WHY you think its a good idea, rather than just taking the position that everyone not in agreement with you is wrong. The best offense is a good defense.

WWE has a deal with NBC for two shows a year. One is the Wrestlemania special, and Tribute To The Troops is the other.
Since NBC long ago realized WWE shows die ratings-wise on their network, they're just happy to have a yearly feel-good show for the Holidays. And it's good P.R. for WWE.

Why would they make those troops suffer like that...
I mean it's one thing to be forced to watch Eva Marie but Jeff Dunham too?!! The horror... The horror.

Call this man "dodecahedron", because he's super edgy. I just feel that if WWE really wanted to help the troops over producing a two hour special about how great WWE is, then they should donate money to VA hospitals or create an outreach program for veterans returning home, including finding employment and reacclimating to civilian life. Having John Cena wave a flag around following a ten minute video package about WWE's history of doing shows "for the troops" has grown pretty damn thin and cloying.

I'd love them to make an angle out of this. Say Wade Barrett is scheduled to face Cena on the show, but refuses to take part saying that he is a pacifist and can not in good consciousness take part in glorifying the actions of the US Military.
I think it would be a great complex storyline where to some he would be a hated heel and to others he would be a hero face.
Of course they could never do it as the National Guard would get pissy and Dean Malenko would get fired.

What's the point of this? Every time I see it half the crowd don't know who the **** anyone is. It's not as if WWE dropping this show will get them heat. It's not the highlight of the year for the troops. It's just one of those "look at us" gimmicks. Like the aunt at Christmas who brings you the cheapest most disgusting bottle of wine but you feel obliged to take it. End it now and actually tape a proper, linear show to put on at the festive period rather than this. I normally disagree with just about everything you post, but you're right on the money there. If it's "for the troops", then fine, give them a house show and broadcast a video package highlighting it during an episode of Raw that doesn't alienate all but the most jingoistic elements of the worldwide audience. Because it's fun being featured on TV. I was featured on TV three times this year, once locally, once nationally, and once internationally and it's fun. Those troops deserve fun and recognition especially on the holidays . Let them celebrate with their favorite entertainers, even if they don't know anything about wrestling at least they are probably having fun or enjoying the recognition of their duty

I'm sure WWE will be pleased to hear this: The DJ for my town's Top 40 station just gave Tribute to the Troops a mention as an intro to a song by Daughtry.
