Haha, can't there just be a middling opinon on this woman? She's either the worst and I hate her soooo much or she's the greatest and I love her to death. I like her, she's good. I think she's a good talker and has a strong personality, nothing great in the ring but she's competent and gets her character across, and I like wacky overselling so she's got that going for her. She'd benefit from having a better division around her, like some veterans to work with that aren't Natalya. I enjoy her on color commentary, she sounds like an actual person and she doesn't take any shit from the announcers. As far as the divas go, she's the best of the bunch imo. I guess the fact that she is so divisive bodes well for her, she definitely inspires a reaction either way. Controversy! I agree totally. While I do think she's the most talented Diva on the roster overall (second only in the ring to Nattie, light years ahead of everyone else on the mic) I don't think she's deserving of the amount of praise she gets from her supporters, or the hate she gets from her detractors. As you rightly point out, she gets a reaction from both camps, which - as Cena has proved - is the most important thing. Right on. I'm a fan of her, for sure, so maybe I misspeak when I mention a "middling" opinion and then I pretty much put her over completely. I could not stand her last year during her GM phase when she got ridiculous amounts of screen/mic time. I think some of the dislike she gets still stems from that period, since it's often brought up in reasons why she's over-exposed etc. But since she's focused on being a wrestler, she's managed to turn me. She's done a good job at coming off like a pro wrestler instead of a 1 dimensional "diva", and I really appreciate that about her. I think it's a good thing for womens' wrestling as a whole in WWE, and I want to see that portion of the show get better. I'm just not at the point where I'm going to argue with anyone about why she's the best thing ever. Nothing I can say will change anyone's mind. I like her, and I'm rooting for her, that's all. Also if I root hard enough she will surely have sex with me YAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!

I obviously cannot prove conclusively that this was the case. But I think it is possible based on the factors I've mentioned. My main gripe was not the result, but that WWE would possibly con people. I'd rather they just present the awards like they used to in the 80's and late 90's, and further the angles they want furthered, rather than do contrived voting that gives the false illusion of choice. Your sig is amazing. I thought the same thing until I remember that the whole sex tape thing was out of her hand and dude she was with was the one who put the video out there without her consent.

I shall concede the point. I will admit to not taking more than a cursory glance at the viewing figures, but your reputation for thoroughness precedes you and I shall not make an argument from ignorance. Is it likely that WWE disregarded fan votes? Yes. I don't believe for a second Stephanie got the most votes for her award, but I don't think it is all that unbelievable that the Bellas could have gotten more votes than AJ. Yea this sums up my thoughts well. If the Bellas did win the vote clean, then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I would just ask why the WWE's is scared of showing the poll results on the screen to re-assure people this voting were legit, but I wouldn't get too up in arms about it. But if and I'll say if, this was fixed it shows a big problem within the WWE. I break down what's happening here - We have faces who the WWE want to push (Brie&Nikki) but they haven't caught on as much as they hope. - They should be aware even thought AJ is a heel, she's more popular than the Bellas and odds are she win the award over who the WWE wants. - They decide to say the fans vote matter so when the Bellas wins it will seem like the fans choose them, which makes it seem they are more popular than they are. Using fraud fans votes is exactly like using the Smackdown pops on those tape smackdowns. It gives the illusion that whatever the WWE is pushing is what the fans want. It's basically a way for the WWE's to try to trick the fans into buying what they are selling. That's pretty sleazy if you ask me. Rather the WWE admit they done a bad job presenting their chosen winner to the crowd to get their support, they fixed the results to make it look like things are going exactly as plan. That's seems like a big issue of the WWE not knowing when to just fall on the grenade and just admit they were wrong. I.E Del Rio's 2 year push. Now if the WWE wants to use the slammy's for angle purpose, then fine make it so a secret panel votes on these awards so people the WWE wants to win, get the award without tricking people into thinking that's who the fans want. I've got no problems with that, it's just conning people that I'm not comfortable with.

Eve should have just declared herself the winner and taken the Slammy, ala Owen Hart.

Eve should have just declared herself the winner and taken the Slammy, ala Owen Hart. She should have done that for every Slammy. For Double cross of the Year they could have had Zack Ryder come out and ask "Who did you double cross this year?", and she responds by kicking him in the nards.

I'm surprised this is the result that got the outrage and not Cena/Rock winning match of the year.

I'm surprised this is the result that got the outrage and not Cena/Rock winning match of the year. I think you can make a kayfabe argument that that was the most important match of the year since it did main event Mania. It's isn't a good argument but I can see a kayfabe reason why it can win.

It was funny watching the highlight package they put together, where nothing remotely interesting or exciting was featured, because no such things occurred in that match.

I'm surprised this is the result that got the outrage and not Cena/Rock winning match of the year. In defense of Rock vs Cena, it is at the very least the 2nd (or 1st depending on what numbers you believe) box-office draw in WWE history. If that many people bought the show for that match, then it's at least plausible that they enjoyed it and voted for it legit. It might still be bullshit, mind you. But it's not out of the realm of possibility. Your sig is amazing. I thought the same thing until I remember that the whole sex tape thing was out of her hand and dude she was with was the one who put the video out there without her consent. So she claims. I don't believe anything when it comes to sex tapes. She benefited from the exposure and its inauspicious timing. So I to this day believe it was a big publicity stunt. Fledgling stars have done things like that for decades, then feigned being a victim. You know the minute you're being filmed f***ing what you're risking. And I sincerely think it was all a ploy for fame.

I'm pretty sure Paris had to sign a release with Redlight District (who bought the tape from Rick Salomon) for it to be published, or she could've sued their asses off. And she likely made a very huge profit from the deal.

You guys are getting pissy about a fake award given away by a rigged sport. A fake award given away by a rigged sport that won't matter in about a month, and wasn't exactly a big deal that night. Ryback won Newcomer of the Year last year. Just keep that in mind.

Only person who did something worthwhile with the Slammys was Owen Hart. Other than that, the Slammy Awards don't mean shit in the long run. It's like a participation award given to a kid at a soccer game.
