Raw had me thinking, where exactly is Bryan in overness compared to others in the company's history? Comparing him to The Rock, Austin, Hogan? Or maybe is one of the lower tiers of all time main eventers (just in the catagory of overness)(e.g. Jericho? t may be hard to compare them due to being a different time in the industry but I think it would be good for us all to gain some sort of clarity on where Bryan is currently in crowd reaction/relationship.
Do you think he can become even bigger during/after Mania season? Or do you feel that now he has hit the ceiling of how over he can get?

Sure he can probably get more over, but I don't think he's going to reach like Hulk Hogan or Rock level of overness. Not like there is anything wrong with that either. Bryan has reach the level where he is still super over whether he's in a big storyline or not, which is a very impressive feet in it self.

I'd say just based on crowd reactions, Daniel Bryan is far more over than just about anyone on the current roster. I don't know about Hogan or Austin, but the only other person I can think of who gets as much of the crowd to respond as Bryan does is The Rock.

Daniel Bryan is so over that Dorothy can't find him.

He's so over that 1997 Sting is watching him and going, "Wow, that guy's pretty over."

I'd say he's 1999 Mick Foley over, which if you watched at the time means he's pretty damn over.

The problem here is that he's over, but he's over in a much smaller bubble than Hogan, Austin or Rock were over in. Almost what you'd call the core audience base. If you set that imaginary bubble within the larger heyday bubbles of those three, and judged strictly within that hemisphere's space, he's probably more over than Rock was and around Hogan level. Don't think anyone will come close to matching Austin though. Let's face it, a good chunk of 1997 and part of 98, a good majority of the crowds, no matter how much they were enjoying whatever was going on at the moment, were impatiently waiting for that glass to shatter any second now. I couldn't say how he'd do within that type of larger bubble.

He isn't. The crowd just likes to chant things and he's pandering to that. Who do he he think he is? AJ Lee? Leave the pandering to the pros.

I couldn't say how he'd do within that type of larger bubble. The thing is, Austin also was in that small bubble during initially being over. That bubble grew with the exposure he got. I don't think that Bryan is the same calibre of character as Austin, but he certainly is better than a lot of other performers they've put in that position.

D-Bry is over. But, this past Monday's RAW is a terrible litmus test, because it was a "hometown" appearance. He gets the crowd involved which is huge. However, I still think Cena & Punk are more over than D-Bry.

However, I still think Cena & Punk are more over than D-Bry. Sure, if this was the only time a crowd ever chanted Daniel Bryan over a main event angle, sure. But that's been happening every week since Survivor Series.

He's over with the IWC fans myself included) and he's over with the fans who are gonna buy a ticket to a live event but I'm not sure how over he is with the very casual fans. It's hard to gauge because the angles of the ppv's he headlined were so terrible that it more than likely affected the buyrates.

He's the most over guy on the roster. Right now if you push him as the top guy, sure, buy rates will be down, but you have to build him up as the top guy overtime, and then things will work out. Steve Austin wasn't drawing flies in 1997, and he was still the most over guy on the roster. It's all a process.

D-bry over? Your damn right he's over.
I just wish he'd move past the stupid YES! NO! Stuff and the arm movements to match said chant. He's kinda like the Terminator right now with the YES! thing. Its what he does...ITS ALL HE DOES! No remorse or pity and he WILL NOT STOP...until you chant to.
