What I don't get is how is a world title different than an intercontinental title. Doesn't "intercontinental" basically mean "world"? To give a serious answer to this: Basically, when the title was first made, the story behind it was that it was unifying a North American Championship (which was a real title back then held by Pat Patterson) and a South American Championship (I believe made up). Hence, originally, that title was only suppossed to be Intercontinental between North America and South America.

Orton is champion of the continents as well as the oceans too. And the dolphins that live in those oceans, they recognize him as their champion. But does Dolphins1925 recognize him as his champion?

They should have created the WWE Universe Championship instead that they use in their games.

I believe it was later unified with the European championship, so it's 3/7ths of a world title. Almost halfway there.

Seriously, the guy that used to hold the world title will just hold the IC title now, and the IC title will mean a lot more. ... f***. I know this is a joke thread, but on a serious note, if anyone can elevate the IC Title, it's Cena. If you put the IC Title on a heel, then you could make a big story out of Cena wanting to claim the one title that he hasn't won yet, become a Triple Crown Champion, etc. If the IC Champ retains, then he has a victory over Cena. If he loses, Cena can boost the belt a bit before putting over the next guy.
