By that I don't mean an actual Team Angle, but a tag team with two new guys who could be paired with a bigger superstar, for example, Randy Orton could say that he's got two people to back him up, then bring out two guys in Randy Orton trunks and all the gear, which is what Team Angle used to do, Team Orton could then be built up as an established tag team with a couple of Championship reigns, then when Orton comes back to being a babyface, Team Orton could split with him and go by another name.
If it worked for Benjamin and Haas, it could work for two rookies to the WWE system.

^I didn't work all that great for Legacy. Cody and Ted were the tag champs pre-Orton and then got reduced to being two sex slaves who barely wrestled.

I could see them doing that with Lesnar, honestly. It keeps his name and presence on the weekly shows without him needing to be there, and it would provide a good boost for a couple of guys. They'd have to be careful with their selection, though. You couldn't have guys stinking up the ring carrying Lesnar's name around. That's why Haas & Benjamin worked as Team Angle, both of them being collegiate wrestlers.

No, it wouldn't work nowadays.
Because when Team Angle worked, that was because Paul Heyman was booking things. And he actually understood that when two guys are a regular tag team and they get in the ring with any one guy, even a main eventer, TWO GUYS BEAT ONE GUY.
Legacy, Edgeheads, any time after that anyone's had a team like that or a faction in general lately, it's just an army of mooks for the top face to barrel over with bare effort.

That's been one of my biggest issues with wrestling forever, the fact that these guys almost act like they trip over their own shoelaces if they're in there with a Cena or a Punk or an Orton. Look at the Shield last night...terrible booking, all so we can get a split. Such cliche cheap writing that we've seen a hundred times and every time it totally blows.

I'd say that Cody and even Ted to a lesser degree got over in spite of being paired with Orton rather than because of it.

Same, weren't they exactly the same or did they have Haas and Benjamin on the back instead of Angle? I agree in that I really wanted those hoodies, they whole look of Team Angle was great.

I think the backs on all the hoodies had the same Team Angle emblem. (Incidentally, I also remember making CAWs of Team Angle on SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth.)

These kind of generic "follow the leader" stables typically do more harm than good to the rookies in my opinion. Ryder and Cody only first got over when they distanced themselves from their team image. Nobody gets to be a superstar as Mini-Edge #2 or a weirdo with black trunks and no pants on who hangs out with two other weirdos with black trunks and no pants.

Ironic you should say that because I've made my own CAW into a Team Angle member on Smackdown: SYM, I called him 'The MVP of Team Angle' and I still use the character to this day when I play on SYM.

That was almost every heel stable for a good number of years from 2003 to about 2010 or so. Let's list them off.
Team Angle (obviously) Unnamed Team Angle (Angle w/ Jindrak and Reigns) Team Lesnar (more than 3 people, but same theme) Evolution (see Team Lesnar) JBL's Cabinet (see Team Lesnar) Legacy Edge w/ Hawkins and Ryder That week Hunico (back when he still kind of mattered) was with Primo and Epico
I'd much rather see a proper face stable before we get another generic heel and his goons going forward.
