Let's say every TV show & movie that has ever aired never did, except for one that you choose. Which one would it be?
For me it would be The Simpsons. My favorite show of all time. I still watch it religiously to this day. It's show I grew up with, & has a lot of meaning to me.
Being 34, I first saw it on the Tracy Ulman Show like a lot of people. From then on I, and the rest of my family was hooked. We watched everything. It was appointment TV. There was/is six (the youngest was born in '89) of us, three boys, & a girl, with me being the oldest. It was just like the TV shows we grew up with. We all gathered around the TV & watched. Together. As I got older I wasn't around as much, but I was still there with everyone to watch The Simpsons. It was just like the shows we watched on TV. We'd all get together and watch TV. It was the one way us four kids would shut up and quit fighting for half an hour. Hell, my grandpa used to call us The Simpsons because of the way we acted!
This continued till I moved out, met a girl, eventually got married. I still watched the Simpson's every week, whether I was on my own, with a roommate, random visitors, and eventually with my girl/fiance/wife. It didn't matter what I looked like, how I dressed, how I acted, who I associated with, or who I lived with. To this day, The Simpsons is the one consistent thing in my life no matter what. At our wedding reception, my wife and I were introduced to the crowd to The Simpsons theme. That was an especially cool moment for me.
I still watch The Simpsons to this day, but most times I end up DVRing it now though. Funny how that works out... Anyway, The Simpsons is the one show I guess I couldn't live without, but what say you FAN? What's the one show/movie you couldn't live without?
