I always claimed and that segment proved me right, Triple H is like Daniel Day Lewis of WWE.
Dat acting.

I always pictured footage of Triple H beating Vince's skull in with a sledgehammer at Armageddon 1999 during the shot of Vince tearing up.

I thought it was a great segment, I enjoyed the acting. I kinda wished this was how Vince was written off TV forever. You've lost it old man, now go home. We're putting you out to pasture before we have to kill you like Old Yeller.

Instead, he came back with no.acknowledgment whatever, he was just in power again.

If not for USA, that probably would have been Vince's onscreen retirement.

It was hilarious. What an awful line.
Vince's crying was good though.

The best part was the live audience not giving a shit.

Instead, he came back with no.acknowledgment whatever, he was just in power again. Vince was always in power. He's just prohibited from having a constant on screen presence anymore like he did in previous eras.

The best part was the live audience not giving a shit. Having just watched it again, I don't know where you're getting that. As stupid as it was, everything Triple H said got a pop and Vince got "Na Na Na Na" chants and then a "Thank You Vince" chant.

I kinda wish the Limo explosion would've been how they wrote him off TV permanently. it was just so funny, he has the worst day ever, everyone tells him how much they hate him, he looks like he'd going to burst into tears at any moment and then for the cherry on top of a shit sundae his car blows up. in terms of heel humiliations, that one's pretty hard to top.

For all the times they've had a great opportunity to retire Vince's on-screen character, I'm glad they haven't. For me, there's no better final appearance for Vince than eating one last Stone Cold Stunner. Have him come out, cut his big emotional retirement speech, then Austin comes down, Stuns him, and leaves.

Yeah, if not for Benoit, that also might have resulted in his character getting retired.

Nah, he'd have popped back up somewhere down the line going "I fooled you!" Or, like this, he woulda come back with no explanation. And even if he storyline had power, Ill take CATCH US word on that, he still waltzed right back without so much as dialogue about when. HHH relieved him of his duties

Kind of ruined the emotional moment, when people are practically mocking you for it.

I think they chanted Na Na Na because they didn't buy it, then they bought it and chanted Thank You Vince, but in hindsight they were right the first time.
