Almost done! Saturday afternoon's going to be a big crochet day (I'm supplementing some of the gifts with hats and scarves, from people who asked for them after seeing the hat I made my sister for her birthday), and I'll finish the store-shopping on Saturday morning. Crossing my fingers everything works out!

I haven't had a day off work since Thanksgiving. Talking 12-14 hour days so literally have had no time to shop. Should be easy just 3 people to buy for except for my employees. I've always gotten them 25 dollar gift cards in the past to a store or restaurant... this year we've expanded though and I've gone from 8 employees which used to cost me $200, to now I've got 20 employees and it'd cost me $500. That's a lot out of pocket to pay my employees that've been making bank on OT the past month while I'm salary so got nothing out of it. I don't wanna come off like a prick like I don't appreciate the employees that have I've always gotten something in years past but I can't slight the new people either. Rock and a hard place but $500 is too much to spend when corporate doesn't give me anything. None of the employees have ever given me anything either so think it's fine if I don't get them anything?

I gotta grab a few small things I can get anywhere. Christmas shopping, or more specifically, being at the store when other people are Christmas shopping is the most compelling argument for Hell I've ever experienced.

My Christmas shopping is done. I did all of mine in November. I refuse to enter shopping malls in December. People go f***ing crazy the closer it is to Christmas. I think instead of going to the combine, the NFL should see how well people do in a Wal Mart on Christmas Eve. Years ago I had to go Wal Mart to get Tide, yeah for freaking Tide of all things, and I have never dodged that much stuff before, or moved that fast in a Wal Mart. You had to move fast or you'd get ran over, and Zod damn did I have to dodge a lot of carts and people. Screw Black Friday, Christmas Eve is the true crazy time to go to Wal Mart.

Well, I guess I'm not done yet...
First of all, I stood in line for ~3 hours for something for my mom yesterday. I wouldn't wait that long for myself, for anything, but when it's Christmas, & it's for Mom, yea... #GoodSon
Tonight, when the wife gets off work, she's going out to shop for me. When she gets back from that, I have to go back out for one more thing for her, stocking stuffers, and the Chuck-dog's gifts too. Tonight. Tonight the Bears play, which means I'll be DVRing the game. Take what I said about waiting in line three hours, replace it with missing the Beloved, & change Mom to wife... #GoodHusband
Me & Santa are going to have some speaks. You're putting me in the poor house fatman!!!

Get them something even if they don't get you anything. It's a solid move on your part, good for morality, breeds loyalty on their part, & shows appreciation on yours.

Oh, I will be watching Bears/Eagles live. The wife offered to let me go do what I need now, & she'll go later during the game. Not that anyone cares.

Got done today. My brother wanted to get going early to avoid the traffic, so we end up at the mall at 9 am and most of the stores weren't even open yet. But I got everything I needed to get, so it's all chowda.(I'd like to officially nominate the phrase "it's all chowda" as the new everything is alright )

I generally stockpile gifts, then I decide when I'm giving them between Christmas and birthdays or whatever else comes up (Mother's Day, etc). I finished Christmas shopping when the last item I bought my mother was delivered a week or so ago.

Made it home just in time for pure NFL bliss. Christmas shopping is officially done! I (because I told the wife she can sleep in) have to go to the grocery store tomorrow morning. Not really looking forward to that, but I'm going as soon as the store opens. Need to get a few things for Christmas Eve & Christmas morning breakfast. After that I will not enter a store till after Christmas. In fact, I will not even have to drive past a store till after Christmas!!!

I'm going to have to do some last minute cramming to make the deadline. Wish me luck.

I try to get done by mid-November. that way I'm not rushed and stuck trying to get a day off work during a busy time of year to spend the day in crowded malls. I spend about 75-100$ on my mom every year, and 50-75$ on my sister. I get a giftcard for 50$ for my step-dad and my brother-in-law. my grandparents each get a card. beyond that I don't do secret santa and my family doesn't kris kringle any more so I don't get anyone else anything. I really cut back oon how much I asked for this year because what usually happens is I give my mom a list of things I'd like expecting to get maybe 3-4 items on the list. then my sister asks for something ultra-expensive (my family isn't scrooge mcduck rich but we're pretty well off) so my mom then buys me everything on my list to compensate. and I feel she spends too much so I just gave her like 3-4 items this year. I live pretty simply and most of my hobbies are pretty inexpensive so I can buy myself most things these days. I don't want her breaking the bank on my account.

I never made it to the grocery store yesterday, so I went this morning. Surprisingly they weren't that busy at all. I went to Aldi, Food 4 Less (didn't have what I needed), & Jewel. They weren't any busier than a normal day, which was great since I still have a lot to do around here.
I did however finish wrapping presents yesterday. Took me a loooong time, but it's done. I screwed WITH (tsk tsk dirty minded people;)) the wife by wrapping her main gift, putting it in a box & wrapping it, & then putting that box into an even bigger box & wrapping that one too! I decided that I'm going to keep that gift hidden. She has several smaller gifts to open, & when she's done I'm going to play it off like that's it. I'll then make up some BS & eventually bring it out for her. It'll surprise the f*** out of her because I know she won't be expecting it. It's something she's really wanted/needed all year, but she's under the impression we can't afford it. Going to knock her socks off when she opens it!!!

Started and finished on the 21st.... sucks cuz my paydates are the 5th and 21st of each month so I HAVE to wait till almost the last minute to do anything.
Ah well, it's done at least.

No one gets presents from me. A card is all they get. It's a nice card though. It usually sparkles.
