I think they definitely are, and it's a good move. Being a champion needs to mean something again.

Current NXT is a whole lot more closely linked to WWE canon than any previous developmental organization (FCW, OVW) I think they definitely are, and it's a good move. Being a champion needs to mean something again. I hope they are but I still think a belt for the lower card is needed. People keep arguing that the U.S. Title could be the new third tier belt, but the problem is that none of the actual midcarders (read: non-former "main eventer" midcarders) can believably get the belt off of Ambrose due to him being pushed so hard as a top level threat. |

Imo having the only low tier title restricted solely for the smaller guys is no different from smaller guys not being able to get pushed up the card in the past. Also I said this in one of the other title threads: so many guys on the current roster have held titles that it just makes the guys who haven't look bad. When there are that many haves, it reflects badly on the have nots. It's one thing to say "not everyone gets to win a title". It's another to say "everyone gets a title except you guys" which is where the current roster seems to be at the moment. No wrestler should ever be made out to be worthless. |

While I do want the WWE Title to have more contenders, they might end up falling into back into the habit of jobbing out the IC Champion if that happens. Without the World Title to make guys like Del Rio, Ziggler, Sheamus, etc. look important, they might start beating the IC Champ more often to maintain that illusion of relevance. |

Few ideas here: First they need to unify the titles.Then I want them to do a feud where someone like Punk or Bryan does a program with Ambrose to make the title more important. Maybe if make it the focus of the how show circuit for a few month and gain some buzz online before finally have a big match on PPV.
Also, rather than unifying the titles, allow Langston to have some matches with Roman Reigns. They had awesome chemistry this past Smackdown and have a big man vs. smaller, but freakin huge man.

There absolutely needs to be a secondary championship, but 2 of them now with there being only one "main" title is overkill. Dont click this spoiler unless you want to be spoiled. {Spoiler}If you read the smackdown spoilers for next week, the OP is on the right track Id think considering the Ambrose/Big E confrontation I'd be absolutely fine with them creating a third tier title akin to the European, or maybe even create something new like a TV Title. I definitely would like to see the old WWF days where the IC meant a helluva lot return. The IC was sometimes the best thing going espc during Hogan's heyday. I would love to see something like cruiserweight/X-Division, but they've tried it and it's clear that Vince and I don't believe even HHH believe in it that much. In a lot of respects the roster is very thin compared to say WCW in the Nitro days, where there was actually an emphasis placed on lower weight classes and the differentiation was greater. WWE has more of a "fantasy" mentality, where a little guy like Rey can play with the big boys. I think one idea would be to bring the NXT champ to Raw regularly and have big NXT matches on Raw. Showcase new talent and get interest in NXT up, but differentiate it so viewers realize that these are newcomers. This would create that third tier title and allow new talent to get showcased on a lot bigger stage. It would be an easy thing to do as well I believe. |

The Euro title was pretty much always the undercard belt whereas the IC title was the midcard belt. Make either the US or IC title back into the undercard belt as a more official position. |

I'd love to see the US/IC title merge, then make a new title: The RAW Title. It's more or less a TV title that has to be defended each week on RAW (or PPV) or else you forfeit it.
Nothing pisses me off more than non-World Titles that never get defended. Ambrose is the perfect example of shitting the bed with a Lower Card Title.

Ambrose hasn't defended his title for something like 8 weeks now. I'm an Ambrose stan and even I forgot he had the title. They might as well unify the US and IC title and give it a little more competition. It's like they can only deal with one title at a time. So whilst Big E was in the running for the IC title, the US title was completely forgotten.
